I have tried different HDMI ports(playstation),I just get that Nintendo logo on game pad,on any icon I press, even settings so I cannot reset or anything.then all i get is could not connect to the Wii u console, turn off the Wii u gamepad, then turn it on closer to the console.
The gamepad turns the console up,blue light on,console will eject and seems to be working, just cannot get a picture on t.v.
Would be happy if there is a way of doing a factory reset somehow but with the gamepad just coming up with that message and nontv picture I'm stumped.
Please help.

@Fixit64 Is this the state you got the Wii U in, or have you had it working previously?

Do you know anyone nearby who has a Wii U? You could try syncing your gamepad to their Wii U and if it works you can eliminate the gamepad as part of the problem. Similarly, you could take their gamepad to your Wii U and try syncing them.

But the fact you're not getting any picture on the TV suggests to me your Wii U console is faulty and probably the easiest thing to do would be to buy a used replacement on ebay.

You guys had me at blood and semen.

What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?

My son is in hospital and knead there for a fortnight with him, came home for a rest,my lads were on FIFA,I went to check my wiiu fit meter, got a pic on TV no problem but it took FIFA off the screen so I turned wiiu gamepad off to do later.
That's when I had no picture, when I got a picture on TV earlier I was a long way from the TV.
Thank you for your input.
Just to confirm,is it the gamepad or console that is faulty.
I don't know anyone with a wiiu.

@Fixit64 Contact Nintendo, they will explain how to do a troubleshooting, if nothing works, they will tell you if it can be fixed.

I tried to plug in the wii cable into my tv and nothing is shown. I guess it's only compatible with HDMI cables.
