EA has stated that it has been able to eliminate expenses by ignoring platforms with no long-term potential. By ignoring the Wii U Nintendo's next gen console lost several triple A franchises which include Battlefield, FIFA, Madden, NBA Live, etc. Can the Wii U survive without EA? There's but two huge FPS franchises (Battlefield & COD) battling it out & it now looks like Activision will also be pulling out of the Wii U. It seems the Wii U will not only lost Battlefield 4 but COD: Ghosts as well.
Just today Take-Two Interactive according to a 4Chan user has no plans to release GTA V on the Wii U & 2K Sports also will not bring WWE game to Wii U. It's like everyday 1 or 2 game developers pulling out of Wii U. What's going to happened if some of this game developers continue pulling out day by day?
Simple those companies wont get money from those that own Nintendo consoles.
Howabout the Wii U failing & Nintendo going bankrupt due to the Wii U without quality 3rd party games?
Howabout you stop with the doom and gloom threads? Haven't you already learned from your other ones being locked? You want to start bashing against Nintendo take it somewhere else. If it fails it fails but till it does we dont know for sure.

Can't help but wonder cuz I just read an article this afternoon at N4G about "Can the Wii U survive without EA?" & also talking about next gen games will not be coming on the Wii U mainly because the Wii U can't run next gen game engines particularly Frostbite 3 & newer.

That's just EA being modest about not wanting to release titles on Nintendo's systems. If the WiiU can handle Cryengine 3 and Unreal Engine 4, it can handle Frostbite 3.
Can the Wii U also survive mainly having Virtual Console & smartphone games instead of having real current gen games that you'll get on both PS3 & Xbox 360?
That's a shame. With the Gamepad as a second screen, their dev teams really would of had a lot more choices and, I feel, could have created more intuitive experiences. . . .but then again, this IS EA we're talking about, so we'd probably just see lazy ports at best.
That in mind, I don't think there's a single EA game in my Wii collection.

Depends on what you mean by "survive". It's not like it's going to go anywhere. It'll sit in its place while Nintendo supports it with their own titles and it'll get about 40m sales while also being profitable. That's pretty much the worse case scenario.

Sure they can cause people buy a Wii U for those games if they wanted Xbox 360 games or PS3 games than they would buy those systems. Honestly I enjoy the older games alot more than current gen games.

EA will put games on the platform when it starts selling. Even then, the system will still be an afterthought to them because traditionally only 1st party games sell well on Nintendo systems. The WiiU will survive just as every Nintendo console did after the SNES.
Looking at my Wii library I can count two games from Activision, three from Capcom, two from Ubisoft, one from THQ, two from smaller third party devs.... twenty from Nintendo first or second party... and one from EA...
Nintendo did pretty good with little to no third party support last generation. It would suck if that happened again but I doubt they'll go bankrupt for that reason and that reason alone. The 3DS is doing fantastic and they've got some quality first party system sellers on the way. That's before you remember that it's still getting pretty much all of the big Ubisoft titles. Rayman Legends, Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed IV. It's not fantastic but I doubt not getting Battlefield 4 alone if true would cause the implosion of Nintendo as we know it.....

Honestly if Nintendo would just beef up their development studios, this 3rd party issue would be gone. They are capable of putting out games in every genre, for every kind of player. What other company can do that?

If GTA did come to the Wii U I would be pretty surprised. I've have been assuming it wasn't going to happen since late January. Not that it bothers me that much given I have other platforms I could play it on and wasn't going to pick it up anyway......
