Not feeling the vibe for this game. It is just a re-hashed Mario Land.

Haven't seen the trailer from the October 1st direct, then? I used to be like you. I hated this game because the first trailer they released at E3 did look like a rehashed 3D Land. But that Oct 1st trailer completely changed my view of it. You should go watch it.

Doubt it, I do think it will temporarily spike sales again like WW HD seemed to do by 600% or more, though from such a small install base that didn't exactly equate to a lot of consoles shifted I don't think.

there's nothing that's certain... of that you can be certain

Prolly not, but at least Smash Bros. is a sure-fire hit.

An $80 price drop turned the 3DS around in one fell swoop, I'd say.

For only about 2 week, then sales went back down. A good portion of the surge was from those that purchased it "prior" to the price cut, because they wanted in on the Ambassador Program. It was games like SM3DL and Mario Kart 7 that got it back off the ground, and kept it in the air.

Dunno. But far more boring Mario titles have done insanely well so it could.

No. If Nintendo actually started utilizing its resources (Gamecube on VC anyone?? OR who would like to play Super Mario Kart or Mario Kart 64 in HD online versus others??), making sure all of its new games include online (eh hem Pikmin 3), and catching up with the rest of the world in regards to expected storage capacity for a console, and purchases tied to IDs not consoles...then I think they would make up some ground. Until then, which I don't think will ever happen....they are far too stubborn....the Wii U will continue to fail. And when I say fail, I mean that it will be the least successful Nintendo console since Virtual Boy.

least successful since GameCube(a draw with it) it can happen but I doubt it, not even close to Wii when it comes to sales almost sure, as bad as(or worse than) Virtual Boy? it had 770,000 units sold I think the WiiU already passed this number....

Correct me if I'm wrong but hasn't it already surpassed the Virtual Boy's sales? At least I'm pretty sure Virtual Boy didn't hit even million sales.

Super Mario 3D World can save the Wii U in the same way 3D Land did for the 3DS. 3D Land wasn't exactly what saved the 3DS but it mark a point where the 3DS was starting to receive bigger titles. If Nintendo keeps up with its releases, unlike the first half of the year, then the Wii U could be a success

Define "save."

If you mean saving it to the point of Gamecube levels of success, then maybe.
If you mean saving it to the point of Wii levels of success, then no.
If you mean hitting Nintendo's sales targets for the thing (which is 9 million by the end of March) then honestly, no, I don't think it'll do that.

"Save" as in being the true turning point for the consoles sales. I don't think this game alone could possible hit the target sales of 9 million but I think this will be the true point where the Wii U stops floundering and starts to finally pick up its momentum and the games that follow its release will only accelerate that momentum further.

I'm just hoping it isn't too little too late. There are plenty of great-looking games just beyond the horizon (next year), perhaps even some we've yet to know about. I remain optimistic though.

I can see something like this happening: Wii U does okay finishing the year. Certainly not the proposed 9 million Nintendo would like, but just okay. The Xbone and PS4 will have their usual few million launch "hardcores" before slowing down (or worse if all the taboo rumors floating about come to fruition), and the next year Wii U will FINALLY start getting in some above average titles and hopefully get up to speed. Most importantly Nintendo needs to ADVERTIZE, ADVERTIZE, ADVERTIZE! The general public still doesn't think the Wii U is a next gen console, and that really needs to be amended first and foremost.

To be honest, there are so many different ways things can go. Also factor in the very real possibility that the other two consoles will be struggling with their own predecessors, especially considering unlike the Wii the 360/PS3 have been consistently getting big name titles up to now plus the lack of backwards compatibility.

I don't feel the Wii U's lack of success is solely a software issue, so I'll say partly. My issue with the Wii U is more dealing with its hardware, specifically the fact that the game pad has an inadequate battery. It dies without me even using the thing, which does turn me off whenever I do want to play the Wii U and find out that I have to wait several hours for the pad to be charged. I'm not a fan of how the game pad is required to log on to the Wii U either and navigate areas of the console such as the eShop and Activity Log. The Wii U has so many control options that that should have never been forced.

Probably not- but hopefully there's at least more games on display during the holiday season. Wish Donkey Kong was coming out and then also wish there were definitive dates for the new Zelda, Smash Bros. They need to let people know that these are coming out in 2014.

No, No and NO!

We have already played Mario 3D world or land whatever, it's 3DS clone with new levels (IMHO).

Gamepad is good for SPORTS GAMES! and where are SPORTS GAMES? They are nowhere...

I am almost sure that Wii U will hardly reach 5 millions of copies till January and that's a sign for RED ALERT.
