Well? Or do they expire? The ones I bought with coins? I haven't redeemed them yet...

We don't know that much information about the Wii U. So you might as well just use them now.

We have absolutely no way of knowing yet. Play them now to give you something to do while we wait nine months for Wii U :)

I am not ignoring you. I just do not post much.

Im not keeping the Wii just for VC games... Not when I have other means of playing snes games already... And this might be a way to avoid the inability to transfer them should Nintendo not allow for it. I know we don't know, it's more of what do u think the chances are if u had to guess? Take enjoying the games now out of the equation too. Not really an issue.

I highly doubt you won't be able to transfer them. DSiware games work similarly to Wii VC/Wiiware games and they were able to be transferred.

@SezeMakto: I e-mailed Nintendo to ask them whether the download codes had a set expiration date, and this is their reply:

Alain Dao wrote:

Thanks for contacting us. The download code that you are provided with for a Virtual Reward does not have a set expiration date. However, you are subject to the terms and conditions outlined in the End User Licensing Agreement (EULA) to which you agreed when you connected online with your systems. I've provided a direct link to the EULA for the Wii console below (please see Chapter VI: Other; Article 10: Change, Suspension or Discontinuance of Wii Network Service):

http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wii/en_na/privacyEUL...

While I'm confident that we won't be ending the Wii Shop or Nintendo eShop service anytime soon, I still recommend that you redeem the download code as soon as possible.

I hope this clarifies everything for you.

the section of the EULA to which he refers reads as follows:

Article 10: Change, Suspension or Discontinuance of Wii Network Service
We may change, suspend, or discontinue the Wii Network Service, or any feature or aspect of the Wii Network Service, at any time, with or without notice to you, and without liability to us. This includes, but is not limited to, the availability of all or any portion of the Wii Network Service, Content, Products, Points, and the number of Points required to redeem particular Content or Products.

so we've learned three things altogether:

(A) No, the Download Codes do not have a set expiration date... yet?
(B) Nintendo can change the availability of and access to anything with regards to the Wii Shop and its content or products at any time without giving you any sort of prior notice. Therefore, it's best to redeem your code(s) as soon as possible.
(C) The only way to get a straight answer about this kind of thing is to contact Nintendo directly. :3
