I didn't say it wasn't the same. There is still no proof that Call of Duty: Ghosts is getting DLC on the Wii U and I'd be a fool to get my hopes up again.

Wii U is getting atleast 1 DLC, the Free Fall map

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Prove it.

If it comes with it, then that's not really DLC is it? Do you buy the game and then go online and download the map? Or does the map come on the disc? If it's on the disc, that is not DLC, even if it is part of a DLC package.

It says you get the DLC under the cover art.

This is a Pre-order bonus which you will most likely have to activate a code for. If you do not pre-order then you may get this map later for a price... this is if they follow how they have been doing things

Stop quoting. I have read everything in this thread so far. Have you read what I have pointed out? They say it may not be available for all platforms, yet it is shown for all platforms. Obviously, one of them is wrong. Guess which one? Maybe the one that they always hint about might be getting DLC but then never does?

Eff it then. Don't get it. I was under the impression all the platforms were getting the same treatment.
Notice how BO2 isn't on Xbox One or PS4 at all. By the time this game comes out, all the 8th gen console will be out with no excuses.

It all depends on single player and dual screen offline co-op for me. If it has more of the old-school MoH -or in the best case a story and characters worthy of BiA- feel than the all-out Battlefield feel, and for once a campaign that actually takes like 8+ hours to run through, I'll get it. So I wait for a pleasant surprise, or skip without a regret.

Season Pass and DLC content may not be available on all platforms or in all territories.

So the Season Pass and DLC outside of the Free Fall map may not come but the Wii U is getting DLC in the form of the Free Fall map

1. It's not DLC if it comes on the disc.
2. The Wii U may not even be getting that. It's only been confirmed that ps3, ps4, xbox 360, xbox 1 and pc will be getting DLC. It says right on there on that page that shows the Wii U with the bonus map that not all platforms may be getting it. It's too vague to say for sure one way or the other and as I have already said, I am not getting my hopes up. In fact, I'm not even going to believe it until I go on the Wii U eshop and see the DLC for myself. As I have said, I've been playing Call of Duty for many years now on Nintendos systems and time and time again they say or do things which lead us to believe that the Nintendo version is also getting DLC but it never happens. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I've already been fooled twice. I won't let it happen a third time.

It says right on the pre-order page that you get the Free-Fall map with a Wii U pre-order. You still can't believe it?

It is very vague ASIDE from that. We should be worrying about whether we get the Free Fall if we download off of the eShop. In that case, it actually would be DLC, unless it's one data file.

In that case, I don't really see why they would call it a bonus if it's included, regardless.

This kinda confirms the Wii U will get the Free Fall map. It only comes with the game if you pre-order so it is not with the game normally. So if you want to choose to believe the Free Fall map is not DLC then that is your choice.

Let me ask you guys this. Have you guys been keeping up with whether or not the previous Call of Duty games for Nintendo systems were getting DLC? I have. As I have stated many times already, there were many times when websites, representatives from Activision and even in-game were implications that the game may receive DLC but it has NEVER happened. Does that explain to you why I'm skeptical? Add in the fact that it DOES say that some systems may not get it and it has been confirmed for every system but Wii U.

Wow... we're really not getting anywhere here. I'll stick to what I'm saying and you stick to what you're saying. Obviously none of us are going to persuade anyone one way or the other. But just remember:

That's what the official website says. It has been confirmed for every platform but the Wii U. Do the math. Activision has NEVER flat out said that a Nintendo version of Call of Duty wasn't going to get DLC (even months after its release). Activision / Treyarch HAVE implied or hinted that we MAY have gotten DLC. But it NEVER happened. We're dealing with a 0% success rate for DLC on Nintendo systems here. Again, do the math.

So just because they haven't before, we're supposed to keep thinking that? It says right there that the Free Fall map bonus will be with GS pre-orders.
The Free Fall map bonus will be DLC if you don't pre-order and get it as a bonus.

I don't get it. If you're skeptical regardless of the information we've given, then why did you ask us to prove something you would never believe?

BTW, I bought COD: BO II on launch day, but I'm figuring that it wouldn't be worth supporting a 7th gen game(COD:BO II) when the 8th gen COD game is right around the corner. It's a better idea to hold off until a game that will be supported by all current platforms is available to support it more consistently.

Number one reason why I'm skeptical is because the official website says that not every platform may get it. Do you understand that? Not every system may get it. If one system were to not get it, which system would it be? Quit clinging on to what little evidence you have (as if a gaming website has never been wrong before) and accept the realities of the situation. The sooner you do that the less disappointed you'll be in the future. And if Ghosts does get DLC, then that's great. But, unless Nintendo themselves announce that DLC is going to be sold on the eshop, nothing else matters. I've seen it all before. Talk is cheap, my friends.

I'm just gonna trust the GameStop site, because otherwise it's false advertising. A promise is different from deliverance.

This is no longer talk. Activision knows they need to support the Wii U. That pre-order option has been available since they anounced the game for Wii U back in July.
You seriously think they wouldn't have fixed such false advertising in over a month?

Honestly, this whole thing is heresy. We might as well believe that none of the consoles get DLC, because some of the platforms could very well mean all of them, except none.

Problem is, they have confirmed that every other system will have the preorder bonus:

"5. Will Free Fall be available on current gen and next gen platforms?

A. Yes, it is a multiplatform pre-order program. The Free Fall downloadable bonus map will be available on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation®3, PlayStation®4 and PC."

-Call of Duty: Ghosts official web page

There is also the fact that Nuketown 2025 was also advertised as a preorder bonus by numerous retailers only to be took off of the pages days before the game launched. I would love for Ghosts to get Free Fall on Wii U as I plan to get the game for that platform and the map sounds interesting, but until Activision confirms we are definitely getting it, I won't get my hopes up. I'd rather be pleasently surprised if/when it does come than bitterly disappointed if/when it doesn't.

Exactly. I think it will. I never had my hopes up for this game, so there's really no hard feelings either way for me.

I thought the announcement was nice, but I'm not entirely sold as-is. I do think the game being available on every platform is a sure sign that it will.
Call of Duty: Black Ops II isn't and won't be on Xbox One or PS4. The 8th gen definition of the Wii U probably kept the COD BO II port from(aside from under stellar sales) getting DLC.

This is the first COD game Activision plans on going all out for into the 8th generation. The Wii U is part of that. Anyways, ya, wait for confirmination. I won't get it if it doesn't have DLC either.
