It's 1 mark less so it's not a huge difference and the way it's scored is by combining the votes of 4 people so it's still a very slight variance. If it was Smash Bros U vs 3DS it'd be more intresting.
Seems like an apples to oranges comparison. You don't compare games on a different platform and in a different genre directly against each other. The reviewers don't necessarily believe that Bayonetta 2 is a better game.

Never trusted them honestly. They always score Nintendo games higher then most sites. I'll wait for more reviews before I get excited. Didn't they give KI:U a perfect score. Not saying it's not good just that they hand out 10's like candy.

The Demo for SSB kind of made me not want the game. I hope that the Wii U Version is better, it'd be nice to get a demo for that as well.
I should probably state the reason why I really didn't enjoy the game. The screen is just way to small. The controls are kind of clunky as well. Just wasn't happy with it. I imagine all of these will be remedied on the Wii U version.

Yet it did score less than the orginal that was non-Ninty.
I trust them. 4 people is a good idea. Less conflict of interest. (People do pay for it as opposed to the only money coming from the advertisers).
I usually compare their own scores to other things in that genre (Or series) and doing that I have ended up with far less stuff I didn't like than any other method I have found so far.

Famitsu doesn't exactly have a great reputation for review scores. It's pretty widely known they'll bump them up in return for companies buying up advertising space. Regardless, I'm sure Bayonetta 2 will be a very good game that gets highly scored, but Famitsu's scores are kind of worthless.
Are we really going to get all hot and bothered over a single point? Please, don't. It'll just make everyone look bad. What you SHOULD be doing is being happy and excited that both games are so good and being released on Nintendo consoles.

Oh no worries, I'm more referring to the people that are now suddenly calling Famitsu's integrity into question because of the score. "What? A game I like scored one point less than this other game that I might not like? Well Famitsu has always been shady, etc etc"

The title seems to hint that the fact Famitsu rated Bayonetta higher than smash must be a joke ^_^;
