Surprised there wasn't already a thread for this. What do you think of the announcement? Did you freak out like I did? I've been meaning to play the first game for awhile so I'm going to go out and get it soon. I love Bayonetta from videos, reviews, and music alone so I'm super excited for this sequel.

I never played the first one. Looked it up on IGN, 9.5, super excited...on Xbox, only 8.2 on PS3. For whatever reason the PS3 version is much worse which means I think I'll just end up skipping the original. I'm definitely keeping an eye on Bayonetta 2 though.

The PS3 version had some glitches and problems. Slowdown was it? Cannot remember.... I never ended up getting it though I may be interested in 2. That would be cool if Nintendo and Platinum released a combo pack that included the first.

If the first game was possibly bundled, which version (as in the first game) do you want the wii u version to be? The xbox 360 or the ps3 version? just wondering? oh and @retro did you know this game was reportedly cancelled?

The 360 version was supposedly better so that one but maybe they could give it a special Wii U overhaul.

360 version has been the best of all platnuims multiplatform games. The reasons given were they never deved for the pa3 and the 360 was always the lead dev console. Metal gear rising is the first game that is beinged deved with the ps3 as the main console and that's because they want to get better at it.

I'll admit; despite not playing the first game (and most likely not playing this one), I am extremely interested in Nintendo's future endeavors. Lots of signs are pointing to the fact that Nintendo was probably the sole reason why Bayonetta 2 exists, and if Nintendo is dedicated to keeping cult hits alive I fully support them. Heck, if Nintendo announces the continuation of another cult hit series I can 100% guarantee my purchase of a Wii U and I will start declaring them the anti-EA!

Was Bayonetta very story based? I hope I can just jump straight into 2.

I actually had no idea this game was originally scrapped until a day ago. That's a terrible decision. Major thanks to Nintendo for reviving it. I can't believe so many people have gotten so mad about this announcement seeing as it wouldn't have happened otherwise. I understand being upset it's on an uninteresting console, but c'mon, lol. I'm just glad this is happening. I love me some Bayonetta.

So. Fracking. Psyched for this.
The first game was/is definitely one of my favorites games for the 360, and i was so sure we were never going to see a sequel ... huzzah Nintendo for saving it from the halls of development hell!

@nickcarney
Bayonetta did have a fairly convoluted (read:crazy as all heck) story, but at the end of the day it's not really important. I'm betting you should be able to jump into the second game — even if it does reference the first one — without missing a beat.

That's good to hear. Did Nintendo say this will be released during the launch window, or will it join Smash Bros as the only games announced for after March?

Anyone who's been reading the Third Party Wii U Wishlist thread already knows how surprised and glad I am to see this game back from the dead exclusively for the Wii U. This will certainly help Nintendo move a few more Wii Units.

...in my pants.

I laughed at the reveal. On Thursday's Wii U price announcement, when I learned there were going to be game announcements as well, I said, "Reggie, I already want the Wii U; just give me a price. The only way you'd make me want it more is if you slapped a pair of breasts on there." A minute later, Bayonetta 2 reveal.

Bayonetta was the best action game this generation, and it is getting a sequel despite having some pretty poor sales.

Suffice it to say I am very, very, very excited. I didn't expect this to see the light of day at all. I guess this means I'll be getting a WiiU when this game comes out.

Best thread ever

@turtlelink I went on the link and every comment (under the video, not on) except a few were from joyous Nintendo fans. I was a horrible horrible troll and got involved in an argument with someone who was mad the game wasn't coming out multiplatform and tried to make it seem like crap. I just responded with a "That's cute, but we're getting Bayonetta 2 and you're not. :)"
