I'm confused from what I was told by Nintendo leading up to its launch this was a new era of core support that would leverage the ability to get easy current gen ports and be strong enough to get ports of the other next gen games.

BWAHAHAHAHAHA

On the real the only thing the system has going for it is Nintendo games and looking to become a great deal for indies. But i'm calling it now this indie scene is going to dry up fast with Sony and probably Microsoft being aggressive and having to use one codebase and dev kit to develop on multiple platforms (PS3/PS4/Via) (Xbox/Windows 8/Windows Phone)

COD 20: BLOPS Modern Warfare Edition will be out in 6 months rendering this game useless again anyway

Who cares about yet another non-innovative linear FPS. Sadly their games are graphic driving which look pretty for demos, screenshots and the first couple of hours gameplay but leave you wondering what the Programmers did throughout the development of the title.

Well they're aimed at different audiences despite being similar in experience. Call of duty has pick up to play instant gratification where you don't even need to be that skilled to play it. really fast paced twitch shooter.

Battlefield alongside having better graphics goes for having a larger player count and being closer to a war simulator with vehicles and a sometimes frustrating barrier to entry. While not being as accessible as your average call of duty game it rewards team play and strategy. No only that but EA has been far better with supporting the game with post game content two years later.

Yes creating an engine that's scable and can be used for a variety of genres as well as used all over the company cheapening development costs as a benef isn't innovative at all.

You od realize there are Variety of degrees of innovation. I mean we all can't throw a 7 behind Mario Kart you know.

The best team/strategy/vehicular war sim award still goes to Operation Flashpoint... I'm more of a old-schooler when it comes to this kind of thing

It's not. I believe you're getting "innovative" mixed up with "helpful".

Ah, this at least silences that stupid rumor from way back. This was never gonna come to Wii U. Probably too much for the current gen of consoles to handle.

I posted this link in the news comments section, and I want to share it here.

Basically, EA have had a history of losing money on Nintendo consoles.

At one time, their stock dropped to the lowest point in the company's history - they subsequently blamed the Nintendo 64. Whether this was warranted or not, they've had a hard time of it with Nintendo from the very first time they flew to Japan to negotiate the deal that would allow them to release games on the NES, and as such, I can understand if they don't want to release a game like Battlefield 4 on the Wii U.

Not that it makes me any happier about it.

It's funny that on a Nintendo site when it becomes known Battlefield 4 won't be on their system, 70% of the people say they don't care and wouldn't buy it anyway. If this was a Sony website and it was reported that Battlefield 4 wouldn't be on the PS4, the website would be blowing up with people saying they wanted it and that EA is garbage, etc.

The indifference of Nintendo fans towards this news basically shows why this game isn't coming to the Wii-U. It just doesn't make sense financially.

Judging from the News Article, I see it has more to do with the Wii U not being super-viable right now. So it's a possiblility someday, but not right away. Now I get the anger, but only just so. As edhe pointed out, EA doesn't have the best financial history with Nintendo, and the Wii U's not exactly selling like hotcakes right now, so at the very least, it's understandable.

This is the thought process of every third party publisher. lol

It's not Nintendo's fault its fanbase is awful.

Can't say this is surprising. It is disappointing however.

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Well taht's the thing as long as a company supports the Wii U than Nintendo fans will like the game. I mean Nintendo fans where singing praises of Ubisoft's support to forming a mob over the Rayman origins news.

Still this leaves a pretty big niche open on the console. Maybe ubisoft could bring back up ghost recon online or Blacklight Retribution.

I expected this. Now that Nintendo has caught up to the PS3/Xbox360 in the graphics department, they need to overcome a different challenge: a new audience. Playstation/Xbox owners have proven they want Battlefield, Dead Island, etc. while Nintendo gamers have not. It's a risk to get it out to a new audience, but it could pay off.

My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.

They JUST released a game on Wii U a week ago.

And accidentally sold it for $30 on Origin, hehe.

They say they want to play it safe by not releasing it on the Wii U, yet they're pushing to have it on 5 other platforms (PC, PS3, 360, PS4, 720). Financially speaking (and if they truly were going for quality), it wouldn't be worth it to have it on the PS4 and 720 because of how few copies will sell in comparison to the PC, PS3 and 360. But, because they aren't being released on those next-gen systems, ii makes me suspicious.

It's not coming to Next-gen platforms, though. Not yet, at any rate. Only PC, 360, and PS3. That's definitely playing it safe.

Even if it was, people are forgetting that the majority of the franchise's fans are on every platform that doesn't have the words Nintendo and Nintendo on it.

I haven't even played Battlefield, even though I heard it is better than COD. PS3 and Xbox 360 are already out for me. I'm moving on to next gen with Wii U. I'm not even getting Bioshock Infinite because I disliked the second one so much.
BTW Chrono, I like your sig. I think Activision doesn't realize that Nintendo fans talk, but the companies never deliver the goods, so THAT is why no one buys the games. Not because of hypocrisy like it implies.
