I think the wii u is the perfect system for Baten Kaitos 3. The first 2 games were amazing and id love to see the series return! The cards could be displayed on the touchpad and so the battle screen would be free of all other things leaving just the beautiful visuals. Also with the gamepad having nfc, they could sell cards in stores that would act as supermoves. I would definately love another Baten Kaitos, am I the only one? Let me know what you think.
You know, we need more card-related games in general for the Wii U, but Baten Kaitos especiallly because it's a singleplayer game (therefore only requiring one Gamepad).
Yes. All of my want is for this game, I seriously loved the first 2 and would definitely play a third one day one. I'm actually hoping Monolith tries to make this after X. Also I didn't find the voice acting in Origins to be awful.

I honestly had no interest in these games when they were around but Xenoblade has REALLY made me want to go back to their previous titles to see if they;re really underappreciated or something.
It would probably be pretty difficult seeing that they would have to redesign the game to work on the gamepad, but im not a developer. Id love to see that and would definitely buy it! However I think for the amount of work I would assume it would take to port the original, it would be more savvy to just make a new entry.

Well as long as they still have everything saved from the first two, porting a game is almost always cheaper than creating a new one. So my idea was more about them testing the waters, market, to see if a 3rd could make them money
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

I'm currently playing through the first one again and besides the hilariously atrocious voice acting (Lyude please stop talking) its a great game it really pumps me up and makes me want a third one even more xD.

When I finally tire of X in about 2020...I'd definitely pick it up. If it happens it won't be for a while, I'm sure the main team is taking a break after X is done, and the team working on the 3DS title might not be as good of a fit.

Well Xenogears is fantastic of course. Xenosaga trilogy can be a bit of a chore though. Overall, I enjoyed it quite a bit, but it's very unconventional and takes a lot of warming to. You might outright hate it for the first hour or so because of the pacing and odd battle system, but once you get in gear, it's fine. Part II trimmed the fat, maybe in a bad way, and then III found a pretty excellent balance. And then there's great story, great characters, etc.
Baten Kaitos was a co-production with tri-Crecendo though, wasn't it? Have you played Fragile Dreams or Eternal Sonata?
Tri-Crescendo's games can be really uneven, but mixed with a great team like Monolith and they really excel.
Also, is it weird that I was sold on Xenosaga within the first hour? I thought they had a really intriguing way of setting up the plot at the time, though I'll admit that was way way back when I was really finicky about stories...the gameplay, while different, is really fun to learn. I dunno, I just really like idea of using the environment to your advantage in an RPG. Combat's kinda repetitive, but so are a lot of Turn-based RPGs...

I could be the weird one, I'm not really sure. I can only speak for myself and I'm not even quite sure what the general critical or user reception was on those games. I just found them clunky at first, but nothing I couldn't get used to. It's not bad, just different, which I suppose will have its immediate fans and immediate detractors.
So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.

Yea even though I would prefer a title for the wii u, a 3ds one would still work extremely well
