I think there is a small benefit to the premium if you are going to use your system as a portable, which I do. True, 32 gigs isn't much, but I have a retail and about 25 indie games, so, it's nice to not have to lug around a hard drive and still have some games to play.

But yeah, your problems can be solved rather easily with an HD if you just have the white version and don't move it around much.

Both the 32GB and 8GB consoles are not enough if you're going to be buying AAA games digitally. You'd want a 250GB+ USB HDD.

8GB has around 2.5GB of space free when empty IIRC. Which will hold about 15 VC games roughly. The 32GB will hold more VC games than are currently available, but will only a few AAA games.

I use a 8GB console with a 250GB HDD, and it currently has SSB, DKCR:TF, NSMBU, as well as MK8 DLC, patch data for some games and a couple of VC games, all this would not fit on a 32GB console.

Aside from the extended memory, there is no benefit to the premium. As you're from the UK, it might make more sense to get a 8GB and get an external HDD. Amazon are selling 8GB consoles for £150, whereas 32GB consoles currently cost around £235, which is not worth it, you could get an 8GB, 250GB HDD and choose which games you want for less than a 32GB console with 1 game.

Unless you want extra accessories like Wii sensor bar or cradles for Wii U and Wii U Gamepad, you might want to opt for the basic set, since Nintendo Digital Deluxe promotion has ended, and you won't be getting any points from digital purchases which you can exchange them for a free $5/£5 eshop code.

Making promise is easy. The hard part is keeping it.

I got the basic at launch because I didn't need another sensor bar and I was already planning on doing the download thing and had a spare hard disk. My partner just got the basic bundle with Nintendo Land and Wii Party U and that includes a sensor bar and a Wii Remote Plus and was £180 before Xmas, so a pretty good deal. She ordered the cradle/stand and a Toshiba Canvio HDD and y-cable separately.

For myself I got an El-cheapo charge cradle for a few bucks on Amazon - just a passthru for the Gamepad charger so not a very involved product.
