Topic: Australian game prices not that bad

So you know how all of the RRPs have been $99? Including Nintendo Land? Well apparently they were placeholders. Most Wii U games will come in at the same RRP Wii games did. So good news! Maybe if you were planning on spending $X00 on all the launch games.... you can now grab one more! Or maybe get an external HDD or extra Pro Controller instead.

Whatever the case, good news for us Southern Hemisphere dwellers.

Is the New Super Mario Bros 2 meant to be the WiiU one or the 3DS one.

I'd say it's prob a typo and they meant New Super Mario Bros U given the RRP for New SMB 2 is $69 and it's an article about Wii U game prices.

Also worth pointing out that is, apparently, the RRP and therefore "eShop" price. Doesn't mean the shelf price will be anything like that. Take New SMB 2 for example which has that RRP of $69 but went for anything from $50 to $68 in the shops. So if the RRP is $79AU we could easily end up paying $70AU at launch.... which is much better than the $99AU placeholder price.

Oh nice, it means I can move some of the money I have on my New Super Mario Bros. U preorder to something else.
I'm liking these prices, will probably be able to get quite a few games on day one (considering I've already paid enough for the system and three-four games I believe).

I will have no money after this, and schoolies, and all the games I need to catch up on.

I'll have no money either... but I'll also have more games than I was anticipating so I'm happy.
Both the console and the games have turned out cheaper than I expected.

My original plan was to put $50 down for the Deluxe, have my fiancé pay it off, and get it from her for Xmas.
But I am just TOO EXCITE and couldn't fathom waiting that long!
On topic (sort of): does anybody know if they're releasing any of the special editions of ACIII for wii u?

I've already payed off my preorder and one Pro Controller. I didn't preorder any games because the games I really want won't make launch (except Trine 2 but that is a download from the eshop). I was planning on buying my third party games from ozsale (as they are so much cheaper i.e. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is AU$49.99 for preorder). I buy first party titles retail though for the Club Nintendo points but I don't want NSMBU so I'll wait for Pikmin 3 instead.

Here in the UK you can pre order the Join Or Die Edition.

Ah, I want the Freedom Edition though. However, I know that UK availability=/=US availability.

So glad they've lowered the RRP for Wii U games! I was really dreading having to possibly pay up to $108 for games, $79 is much better especially since JB will likely sell them for $69. Even the console price wasn't that bad, I've already payed off my pre-order for it. I hope they reveal the Pro controller price soon, I don't believe EB's price of $80.

These prices are going to be wonderful.
