When I downloaded Ninja Gaiden, I watched a couple episodes of Futurama... well look at that, problem solved, no whining needed

What bothers me is if you listed yourself as younger than 17 in the set up process, you can't access M rated titles, so you need to make a new user who is over 17. Why does Nintendo assume that my parents care so much as to not look at the details of Assassin's Creed 3?
Why do people point to their wrists when asking for the time, but don't point to their crotch when they ask where the bathroom is?

10+hours for zombiU last night. I decided it was because of xmas updaters and almost felt bad to slow them from their first turns.not quite though. Complaint~when you select power down after complete your gamepad stays on with no way to turn it off and apparently doesn't turn off after the download ends.It was dead this morning and I had to hit the power button again after connecting the adapter and having it say it wasn't close enough to connect at least I didn't have to pull the plug on the console again. What I'm really bothered by is my tv's screen is cropped in games it needs an option to adjust size like miiverse has.ZombiU has a brightness adjustment in its menu and it says(on my screen) en adjusting .just about as much is missing as was for miiverse before I heard about and adjusted the size

Haven't got anything yet...
...I've tried to get the update about a half-dozen times so far and I get an error every time!
Good news is that we could play NintendoLand w/o the system update.
Bad news is that I really wanted to do a system transfer before we started digging into the new games and having data save and all that.
I'm hoping the update won't give me an error tonight when I try again.

I went into the parent controls option menu and selected the ratings that he can play.

Thanks, I'll make Parental Controls for myself then. Hopefully it works.

I know the "I Before E" rule, but it's still spelled t-h-e-i-r. So there.
The "i before e except after c" teaching rule doesn't actually exist any more. There were found to be far more exceptions to the rule (their, weight, freight, etc) than words that actually conform to it (ceiling, friend, etc). So it's no longer taught in schools. Fun fact of the day~

My first update took around 40 min. Some places don't have that fast of internet connection regardless of you mb/s speed. I have 7 mb/s, and I've heard it taking twice as long w/ people that have 15-20 mb/s. Just make sure your Wii U has a good connection to your router, and the settings on the router are good, too. As for downloading games, that will take a while, regardless... I hope everyone is enjoying their Wii U otherwise.

Wow nice of Nintendo to charge me 50 cents to say I am parent. Isn't that illegal?
My girlfriend is in Law school and told me about this. They studied it in her internet law this last semester. Apparently it is because of a California law that puts strict regulations on obtaining information from people under the age of 18. By having the parent set everything up, and then charge the credit card, they are able to satisfy the requirements that the parents consent to the gathering of information about the child.
I'm guessing that if you read all of the fine print, you would see that is what they are doing. It reminded me of the the German law that restricts all of Europe, preventing M rated games from being purchased during daylight hours. It is far easier (and cheaper) for a company to satisfy the strictest law then it is for them to restrict only what is necessary for each state/country in the territory.

Figures it would be because of some stupid California law. And people wonder why I want to get out of this state.
