Freedom Cry, which has players take the role of Black Flag protagonist Edward Kenway's first mate Adéwalé in a campaign set 15 years after the events of AC4, will be released on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 on February 18 in North America, February 19 in Europe, and worldwide on February 25 for PC.
The game will not be coming to Xbox One or Xbox 360. Why's that? "Sony and Ubisoft have built a solid partnership on the Assassin’s Creed brand, and Sony shares our enthusiasm for expanding the reach of this game," said a Ubisoft spokesperson to GameSpot.
Ubisoft did not mention a specific price for the standalone version of Freedom Cry, but the DLC is available for Assassin's Creed IV for about $10.
"With the strongest ensemble cast in the franchise, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag wasn't short of assassins and pirates worthy of their own playable tales, DLC or otherwise. Freedom Cry is more than just another Assassin's Creed IV chapter with a reskinned protagonist, but its troubled handling of dark themes makes this a turbulent voyage," said reviewer Miguel Concepcion in GameSpot's Freedom Cry review.
Not only it is not coming to wii U, but they even dont mention it!

1. Simply proves how much money Sony gave these Devs. Not saying that its bad, it is actually pretty smart tbh. Nintendo is famous for not giving a doggieoopsiepoopiepoodlebulldogstinker about 3rd party Devs.
2. Like Ryno said, how many copies of AC4 did the Wii U sold? According the Vgchartz, the PS4 sold 600K while the Wii U only manage to sold 80K. The Wii U has a larger install base but only sold around 14% of the PS4 amount? No doggieoopsiepoopiepoodlebulldogstinker ubisoft is "heartbroken".
It still baffles me why 3rd party games are not selling for the Wii U. Seriously, a 86% sales gap to the PS4 who has a smaller install base is just weird. And we wonder why 3rd party games are not coming to the Wii U....
How many Wii U copies of AC4 have been sold, even 50K?
I honestly wouldnt be surprised if it's at least done better than 3, it was on the best selling eShop list for quite a while, longer than I was expecting and most people likely bought it retail even with that in mind.

I don't think it sold that well on eShop. Like every other Ubisoft game (except Rayman Legends) it started out horribly overpriced. I mean €70, are they mad?!
How can you be unhappy with 80,000 copies (EDIT: vgchartz says 130,000). That's 5 million dollars. Edit: 8 million dollars. A port costs less than a million. Most of the 80,000 (130,000) people probably wouldn't buy the game on another console. It's a good fanbase not to lose. It's money.

The numbers I quoted are only referring to the NA region. World wide the gab is even bigger, 130k vs 1.28mil. Also I'm not being unhappy at all, I'm just baffled.
We have a console that has a bigger install base than the PS4 and the sales gap is almost 90%. If the Wii U 3rd party sales continue to be like this, I assure you the devs are going to abandon ship. Just being realistic here and I'm pretty sure Wii U owners (including myself) wouldn't want this.
I'm still quietly waiting for COD DLC to come to the Wii U....which I'm highly doubting it ever will. Fingers crossed.

If margins were this good then so many games would be a huge success. You're forgetting the retailer's cut, the platform owner's royalties. I would like to see how you find out it was less than a million to port.

You're right about there being other costs, but that's exactly why digital is important for distribution, because you're cutting out a few middlemen in the process(retailers, disc manufacturers, label/game cover printers). It is stil good to have those relations, but more money is made through digital, because those discs are still on shelves.
If Activision had offered their games as digital products, they probably would have made more money. We have to look at all the variables in order to see how they're making the most money back.
Sonic Racing, for example was a cheap port based on Ubisofts efforts, so selling as much as it did was still looked at as being a great selling game at 310,000.
Well, this proves Sony is paying devs off not to include content for Nintendo systems. And likely the reason they don't mention Wii U is in hopes that nobody will make that connection.

The connection that Sony is paying for exclusive content? You make it sound like a conspiracy theory, when that couldn't be farther from the truth. This isn't targeted at Nintendo at all, if it's targeted at anyone, it's MS.
Exactly as they would want you to think, because they mentioned Xbox and not Nintendo. Playstation exists out of spite for Nintendo. Ken Kutaragi was all excited to make Nintendo's CD add-on and then when Nintendo backed out of the deal, he got upset and decided to go ahead and make the playstation anyway just to rival Nintendo. Funny how every developer under the sun immediately went to Playstation and left Nintendo after Sony got upset with Nintendo, don't you think? And even now we see stories like this.
Business isn't that personal, and even if it was out of spite, I guarantee you that Sony's not spending money on spite right now. It's a conspiracy theory, and nothing more if you think they did out of spite. There is no way Kaz Hirai would allow spite actions like this to be taken. It would be bad for Sony's bottom line.
I don't think Sony paid anyone to "put down" other consoles. It was probably just GameSpot people trying to point out that Sony's main competitor wasn't getting the game. I'm honestly fine with not having it at all.
3rd party BS, aside, I genuinely don't care about AC.
