As a non-competitive player, Smash is a superior experince on the 3DS, mostly because I'm not a fan of fights with over 5 combatants, where it becomes a convulted button masher IMO, and the fact that Smash Run is superior to Smash Tour,.......as well, I like the stage design better in the 3DS version.
That being said the only other Smash game I have played is the OG N64 version, and despite my views, I can totally understand why somebody would go for the Wii U version everytime.
Just wondering if anybody else feels the same? I'm guessing I'm in a small minority.

Either way, I disagree. Last night I spent over four hours smashing along with friends in my big flatscreen, and that's what Smash's about for me. The pristine HD graphics help, too.
You're entitled to your own opinion, of course. I'm not a fan of fights with over 5 combatants either; that's one of my main complaints about the game. However, I do find that Smash Tour is better than Smash Run and that the stages are overall better on the Wii U version. I do wish Magicant and Mute City made it over to Wii U though. I've also played the OG N64 version but I didn't enjoy it that much since when I played it, I had already played Brawl and 3DS.

I think maybe because I'm approaching the franchise as someone who enjoys Street Fighter and traditional 2D fighters, the lack of emphasis on the amount of fighters on screen at once (in comparison) and or overly complicated stage design of the 3DS version is something that I enjoy.
Everyone will easily get the Wii U version because of how flexible the control scheme is. The only reason why Smash 3DS is selling better than Wii U is because of the huge install base the 3DS has.
Actually, playing the Wii U version made more aware of the mechanics that are also in the 3DS version. My brother and I discussed how the 3DS has some nice stages that the Wii U didn't get. The Wii U version borrowed alot of it's stages from Brawl. I'm pretty open to both versions for their own reasons. I play alot in 3D on 3DS, but the HD and better speaker options of the Wii U one are also nifty.
The Wii U also has more modes, but I'd say they are fairly even.

I like the 3DS stages maybe more because there is more variety, come on, you got town & city and smashvile, Orbital Gate assault and Lylate Cruise, Palutena's Temple and Skyworld, possibly the Metroid stages and the Mario Kart ones (still have to play them) that's a bunch of stages that seem to like another stage and I could be still missing a few, but other then that I am liking both games, but I might be playing the 3DS version more, but that is my opinion.
My favorite stages are Magicant on 3DS, and Duck Hunt on Wii U. They have a lot of variety when you consider both games, so I think it's worthwhile to own both. My brother and I play Smash Run on 3DS, and Smash Tour on Wii U, so they offer a lot to play. Being able to transfer Mii characters between the 2 is pretty nice, as well, even though I don't use it that much.

People bought the Wiiu version cause of the controls, graphics, the modes and everything else the 3DS has but better except smash tour which is god awful. But it's your opinion you're entitled to it old sport.

On the 3DS version I tend to make it select the Omega stages because a lot of the stages are too complicated. Feels like I'm fighting against the stage rather than the other characters. On the Wii U version I never select the Omega stages. Also personally I really like the ability to have a large number of players especially when you add in Amiibo. Not saying I don't like the 3DS version it's just that if I'm home and I want to play Smash nine times out of ten I'll go for the Wii U version.
Smash Run and Smash Tour don't even come into it.... mostly because I don't particularly like either mode.

There's a chance that we could see the 3DS only stages brought over as DLC for the Wii U game and Vice versa.
I so hope so. I'm too tight to grab the 3DS version.

Nah... I haven't played the Wii U version yet, but I can tell it's gonna be better than the 3DS one. For starters, I'm not fond of the stages in the 3DS game. Smash Tour and Smash Run don't affect me in the slightest because I hardly play (will play) them. The Wii U version IMO has the better music, looks better and plays better - I can pull off Smashes way better with a GameCube controller/GamePad/Pro because of their analog sticks.
Anyway though, the 3DS version is fantastic. It's suddenly one of my best 3DS games..... obviously
God first.
