So, there seems to be a serious lack of information on the Wii U version of the game. I bought it and thought I would give some info for those that are interested. I've only managed to squeeze about an hour in so keep that in mind.
Gamepad Features:
Off- TV play supported
Map display and some voice over (i.e. Alfred) through Gamepad Speakers
Detective crime scene scans are used with the Gamepad. (Align with screen and the use either gyroscope or analogue sticks)
Controls:
The controls seem a little odd this time perhaps because it was a simultaneous multiplatform development. They may just need some getting used to but they don't seem as fluid as Armoured Edition. It seems many of the gadgets are now used through buttons rather than anything unique to the gamepad such as the batarang and decoding.
Visuals/Presentation:
It seems the framerate does stutter a bit like the PS360 counterparts have reported (cut scenes as well). The menu has changed, in my opinion, quite drastically and, thus far, I don't really care for it. The flow between upgraded gadgets and checking enemy profiles is not the same. It looks like they were trying to make everything flashier but ended up making it harder to read.
Overall:
The game seems like it will be fun but feels like a sloppier batman game than the predecessors.
I've only played about 10 min so far, but I noticed that I can't aim with the gyroscopic controls which is pretty disappointing. I always that it was great for small adjustments to aim.

this is the general opinion I've heard from some people about other versions of the game too, for the record
I wonder how long the Dev Team actually got to work on the game. Armored Edition came out only a year ago, yea it was a port but I wonder what the development cycle was for this.
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

@DefHalan: Well, quite a bit of the map from Arkham City was reused so I'm sure that saved them some time.
@kkslider5552000: I wasn't trying to say the Wii U version is worse. I've read the reviews. I actually think people are being a little harsh. At the very least, the Wii U version seems to be on par. If you like the gamepad features then I would say it is better. The only thing missing is the multiplayer and, apparently that is pretty bad.
It's in no way a bad game but it lacks the polish of the other two. I think the controls might have been a compromise in order to include the pro controller. The lighting does seem to be improved. I wish you could some how boost the audio out of the gamepad. For the most part, it is adequate but Alfred is really low.
I heard the multiplayer was god awful so actually Wii U owners are getting the best deal because we get teh game $10 cheaper because of the lack of the crappy multiplayer lol.
HAHAHAHAHAHA YES. "Oh, but I want the multiplayer in my game that doesn't need it because it's online multiplayer? Being cheaper isn't good enough for the Wii U version!" Oh wow, I feel so justified now. And there are reviews saying it's bad. This is why you should listen to me.
