Hello there,

This is my second WII U gamepad. i tried my very best to keep it clean. I never played any game before washing my hands etc. The first gamepad i had, had a horrible right analog stick. the right analog stick kept moving by itself. now, the same thing is happening with this second wii u gamepad! are these analog sticks REALLY that fragile? Such a dissapointment since MK8 is almost here. I don't know what to do. Its out of warranty now. Can someone possibly link me to some replacement analog sticks on amazon?

thanks for all the help in advance

Had mine since launch and haven't had any issues with the analogue sticks, my touch screen stopped working but I got that fixed and have had no problems since.

My left analog stick wouldn't stop forcing up once, but I drained the gamepad's battery and I haven't had problems since. That was some where around a month ago. Idk if that helps, but if you haven't tried draining the battery I suggest it.

Check you're not pushing the analogue stick in one direction when you're turning it on. They calibrate/zero when you turn them on.

The retail Japanese price is 12800 yen. (Where they can be bought separately).

Only way is to either import one or buy from Nintendo (Think buying one locally will be lots more.)

Once you have two you have spare parts.

No problems here with my heavily played (my 4 year old goes to town on the thing) launch gamepad. Sounds like a calibration issue to me as well.

I had the GHOST movement trouble with N64, but not Gamecube, or Wii controllers; and certainly not Wii U. I've dropped that thing while standing up, and it's still working fine. Seriously: I don't know what you could have done to make it do that, other than what's already been mentioned.

My GamePad fell down numerous times by now, and I've used it quite a lot, but the Analog Sticks still work perfectly for me. Might be bad calibration on your end.

Only controller I'm having minor issues with is the Pro Controller...and I mainly use that for Monster Hunter. (don't notice it much during VC games)

I used to have problems with the pro controller, but that's because it seems to recalibrate every time you open a game that aupports it and I tend to play with the analogs during loading times, so it calibrated wrong.

It doesn't happen as often now.

Bloop.

Gamepads are region-locked, so importing one is not a good idea

NiNTENDOMiNATi0N from YouTube proved that a Japanese-imported Wii U GamePad isn't compatible with Wii U's region that isn't set to Japan, because it forces you to update it but can't for the same reason. Though, you can attempt to dismount the imported GamePad and spare the parts from it.

Are you 100% certain about that ?

Alright thanks guys for all the feedback and support! I ended up using a vacuum cleaner and letting it suck the air out of the analog sticks. Could've been a dust problem. As of now its working fine. If it does act up again i'll try the draining battery method. Thank you all!
