I love Nintendo. I been a fan of their games since Super Mario Sunshine. So, I thought Nintendo had a wonderful fanbase full of people like me. But, recently......I seen people saying that the Nintendo is for babies and rehashs. They also said the Nintendo fanbase are people with nostalgia syndrome, and they absolutely go nuts when someone plays on a non-Nintendo system. I thought it was lies. But, when I go Smashboards and looking at Youtube comments on Nintendo videos, I seen Nintendo fans bashing people for liking Crash Bandicoot than Mario. (Although the guy said he still play Mario games, he prefers Crash more. But they began insulting him like crazy.)
Seeing these things started to make me think, Are Nintendo fanboys ruining Nintendo image? Are they proving that the people said about the Nintendo fanbase true?

Sadly yes. Nintendo fanboys are some of the most rude but also most vocal fanboys around as well as some of the most toxic. I have heard many times where Nintendo fanboys will call someone a Sony fanboy because the have a Sony character for an avatar picture even though that person is a fan of both systems. I honestly dont know why they are like that maybe its because Nintendo is looked down upon compared to Sony and MS and fans of Nintendo feel like they have to justify being a Nintendo fan. But honestly its one reason I don't stick around on Nintendo forums too much. Even hear on Nintendolife I try to stay clear of the Wii U section cause even if you have a negative opinion even if its the truth you get attacked. Which is really really sad.

No matter the subject, no matter the game, this exists all over the net these days. There aren't many communities out there without trolls. Don't mistake them all for people whom fall into the category for troll either, many of them go into the communities with the intent to be the best one ever.
Troll or not, even the nicest communities will have their purists and you won't convince them otherwise. The thing is here, is that those types of people are more vocal.
Also remember, we tend to, without thinking, place the people we chat online with, within our age group, when a lot of times these people are very very young. Consider placing the comments coming out of an adult standing next to you and you would see what I mean. A lot of that kind of stuff is the kind of back and forth you see in children on schoolyards.
Just go on ign then you see all of the xbots and other fanboys that do not want to listen to reason and they will not accept us or our console choice then they
1. report you
2. Or say you are ???
mods on there are just as bad
Please, let's not start any movements here. -MorphMarron

Well, fanboys don't hurt the companies image per say, it just makes the normal fans of the company or IP/whatever look bad. And this isn't just Nintendo fanboys that hurt their own fanbase, same could be said about Sony fanboys(especially), Xbox, Sonic fanboys etc. etc.
We seem to get this question every once in a while, and in all my time here, I've learned that when people ask a question like this, check their profile:

Signature and/or Profile complains about the website and/or its staff? Check.
Is their Name and/or Profile a direct reference to their dislike of Nintendo and/or its fans? Check.
Does he reference Youtube commentors? Double Check.
Yeah...I doubt this guy came here for a serious, civil discussion...I recommend just moving along...
They don't ruin Nintendo's image anymore than the Sony sickos and Xbots ruin the image of Sony and MS and the pieces of plastic they make. In fact, being actively involved in both the PS and Xbox communities the ignorance and stupidity has reached levels I never thought possible. I really think the Xbots are on some drugs and the Sickos are so delusional it's like they live in an alternate reality. That's why I like PushSquare and PureXbox. For the most part both websites are devoid of those kind of people. Go to some other places, good Lord... And the stuff they choose to whine about is ridiculous. I give Nintendo fanboys this. As ignorant as many are, they at least seem to care about actual gaming.

Sorry, but as fun as that wikia can be, it (and it's publicity) can be very very nsfw, so I'd rather remove the link. -MorphMarron

i think stupid threads like this are ruining nintendo forums, why is everyone so obsessed with image and perception? i guess it's because most of you are american. if one troll says "nintendo are for kids" all the americans rile up and need to have a big discussion about whether it's true or not. lol.

....yup, I'm staying the hell away from this thread.
...wait, you really thought Encyclopedia Dramatica is a noteworthy, trustable site? How the hell have you lasted on the Internet?! It's in the name - it's where teenagers overdramatize and sensationalize stuff about random websites. Most of what's written there are highly exaggerated, one-sided accounts, if not completely fabricated.
Either way, why would you reference that in your signature? There's no way it wouldn't sound like you're trying to cause trouble...

Okay that link is hilarious, but it's a troll wiki and a very bad one at that. But the paragraph about the blackdragon killed me.

So this is an American thing lol. Dont know where you are from but I have seen plenty of people from other countries riling up as well when someone says something bad about Nintendo. Oh but I guess blaming Americans is a non-American thing then.
@Gamer83 Come on now, if you're gonna use names for fanboys, at least use the right one. It's Sony ponies .
LOL. I go with Sickos . I don't know if you visit DualShockers or thesixthaxis, but the communities are legitimately full of sickos. Some of these people probably have Kaz Hirai shrines in their bedrooms. It is scary how much some worship him and Sony.
