Topic: Miss Playing Nintendo Gamecube?

Oh, I missed it alright. I was not wasting my time with Nintendo's worst selling console.

I was playing a real console, _{at least that is what I thought back then.}

funny story about the 2 gamecubes i owned

my dog P***ed on the side of the gamecube ( where the 2 fans where ) and it broke .. lol so we only had that system when we was kids so we had to play the ps1 for like 1 month which was at my grandads house and my brother cried getting the ps1 in a plastic bag all the way there and all the way back lol ( my grandad did live down the street )

and i got a black gamecube with the gba player for my birthday along with smash bros melee metriod prime and lord of the rings:the third age. good times with the gamecube lol

I have an actual GameCube, though, so I guess I'm OK. Regardless, I will miss it a lot even though it was certain.

I love my Gamecube. Still have it hooked up at home. If I get a survival horror urge, I'll put in Eternal Darkness or REmake and be in heaven (or hell, depending on how you look at it). And I have Metroid Prime for my adventuring needs.

God, the original controller for that thing is awful. SO FAT.

Yes, I miss corded controllers, buying those $.10 double A battery packs for my beloved wavebird, corrupted saved data, as many droughts as the Sahara desert in a five year time span and the lack of online multiplayer, consistent third party support, AAA titles from Nintendo post 2004 and no DVD format.

I miss those days.

My GCN is the system I have hooked up most in my game room. I love everything about it.

The Gamecube will always be the best system ever because of this:

I only had a GBA at this point but I will tell you this. The GC controller was good but it's no modern day Classic controller. Have't tried the Wii U one yet but the only thing the Wii one misses is a rumble feature. The button placement on the GC controller was a little, weird.

There were some games that made it worth owning (or at least not suck quite as much). Panzer Dragoon Orta, Morrowind, Fable, Ninja Gaiden Black, Silent Hill 2: Restless Dreams (the definitive version of the game due to some cool upgrades), and of course both Knights of the Old Republic games were all fantastic. I'm sure there are other great non-Bro shooter games on there. Still, the few gems it did acquire just couldn't let it compete with the PS2. The PS2 rivals the SNES for having the greatest game library of the last twenty years. The Gamecube also had a much larger number of great, truly exclusive games.

Still remember the day when I first played that thing...Melee was the best launch title ever. (and still. >_>)
That said, only thing I really miss about that thing is the logo's animation. Kinda wished Nintendo had done something like that with the 3DS and Wii U, but ah well.

I loved my GC. It had one or two JRPGs and some fun multiplayer games.

Then I got a PS2 and I don't think I touched the GC again, aside for a brief stint with Baten Kaitos

Yeah I still think it's the best controller ever. It fit perfectly into your hands and was perfect for melee.
