Topic: Anyone know when the Wii U freezing update will launch?

Thought it was supposed to come out this week but haven't heard anymore about it recently.

I'm a PC player but I'll always have a spot for Nintendo. I grew up as a child as a hardcore Nintendo fanboy and I still love their games. The Legend of Zelda still gives me the magic feeling I had when I was a kid. :)

Know one knows except Nintendo, but it will probably be when UK gets the Wii U, or the day before that to lower multiple downloaders. Seriously though, all anyone can do is guess.

All I know is sometime this week. Give it time the week is only two days old. Other than that all I can suggest is maybe contact Nintendo and ask them.

It for sure is gonna get an update, so don't worry everyone! I called Nintendo as soon as I was having freezes, and they said there is one coming, with addition features trying to be added too...

Cool man, thanks for calling. When I called the guy was really nice but he seemed clueless. He didn't really know what to tell me. He asked me if I wanted to send it in for repairs. O.o

Mine was freezing like 30 seconds into starting Nintendo Land, but after using different parts of the console, it didn't do it at all anymore. I understand having a new console freeze, and being dissapointed, but it will be fixed. Besides, PS and Xbox owners deal with this all the time, and even more so than Wii U. I know because I owned them.

@SCAR392 Can you do me another favor man? My friend who unplugged my Wii U also had his cousin there and his cousin spilled some kool aid on the floor when my power brick was on the floor, I picked it up and it looked like only a few drips got on it but now the thick cord that goes to the wall makes a sticky sound when you move it by the power brick. Can't really describe it any better. But if you understand what I said, can you check if yours makes the same sound? Just want to make sure no dried kool aid is in my power brick.

Just go use Miiverse, play a different game, or even download a game off the eShop. Doing other things besides playing Nintendo Land fixed it for me for now, but once the update is fixed, there should be no problem. If there is, I'm sending mine in at no extea cost. I think its just the disc being read, and other things going on in the console at the same time like Miiverse. BO 2 hasn't had any problems for me, and DLC version NSMB.U never has problems.

I have to say I am kinda glad that I am waiting till Christmas to play my Wii U. I would be going nuts if I had to deal with all these minor issues.

@Tasuki, now you know how I feel. I'm fairly sure I'm a little OCD, all these problems make me cringe, lol. Expected for a launch console I guess though..

Right where the wall outlet connects to the power brick, it does make a sticky sound, and I haven't spilled anything on it. I hope that helps. They do make it hard for liquids to get inside though, just for reassurance, besides the plug in areas. Someones dropped my 3DS charger in goopy 3 day old coffee before, and you can rinse some things with water(not plugged in), let it dry, and it will work.

So yours makes the sticky sound also? Thanks a ton man, that eases some worries. I never noticed the sound until after that happened so I wasn't sure.

Right where the cord goes into the power brick from the wall, right? That's where it makes a creaky noise on mine. I hope you have fun with your console. I'm downloading ZombiU onto my console right now. I have slow internet, so it'll be another hour or so.

@Treverend: Right thats the luck with launch consoles. I expect that as well but I still get annoyed by them. Usually I wait about a year or so after a console launches to avoid these kind of problems but I didnt want to happen with the Wii U what happened with the Wii. Thats why I decided to preorder it this time instead of hoping to get lucky like I did with my Wii.

Yup yup. Would you call the creaky noise like a sticky sound too? And nice man, hope you like the game, I rented it and it was pretty cool.
