Well, at least there you get to decide which idiots you associate with.

Yes. I updated my profile with some ID information, and they locked my profile until I deleted it. It took less than 5 minutes to lock it. But it's been more than 30 minutes since I wiped my profile and responded to their admin message...and it's still locked.

As soon as you say "WOW, this game is better than Ratchet and Clank!" The Admins erase the message. You can't even give their games a comparison to the competition...or it gets the ban-hammer.

Maybe I'm just bitter at the moment, and I'm just venting. But that's what I see most of the time.

I'm starting to think Admins target certain people (either for previous offenses or because someone keeps reporting you--Ratchet and Clank? Sony Fanboy perhaps) because I've NEVER had a problem and I've seen quite a few people complain on Miiverse they keep getting banned as well.

I have to admit the loss of the "yeah" counter had me laughing though. The number one thing I hated about miiverse was the "yeah" spammers (gimme yeahs, gimme yeahs!!!11)...now all their efforts are in vain...mwhahahaha....and they've since migrated to the Smash Bros. Board...

It's my first offense. Heck, it's my first offense with any console. I've never had account issues/temp locks/whatever until about 1 hour ago. And I don't even know what it was for. Maybe it was my Backloggery name on there. That's all I did. As for Ratchet and Clank...that was just an example I gave because I saw the message up there by someone. I checked, not even 5 minutes later, it was modded.

I like it, but don't usually pay attention to anything people are talking about on there. I use miiverse just to see if anyone's made some cool drawings, and usually I can find some awesome ones. sadly it seems like there's been less cool drawings since miiverse went on 3DS.

i think its pretty good, i wouldnt exactly post on facebook that i finally beat crown - crown, on miiverse i would. i like reading though other peoples posts and giving tips to new players. also the popular post filter gives you the best posts in every community so you dont have to see all the "that level was hard" stuff.

put it on.

I thought that before trying it! Now i love Miiverse!
But i can totally understand how someone might not be happy about this service...

I don't like the concept of Miiverse (because I absolutely hate the idea of Nintendo having a forum or social network equivalent due to the damage it might be doing to unofficial ones), but I wouldn't say it's annoying. Just something I have no interest in.

I've tried to "get" Miiverse, I really have, but I'm afraid I'm still struggling. I want to like it, but so far it just seems rather pointless and asinine and I never feel any need to look at it or to say anything on it. It just seems to be a neverending flood of inane comments from random people with such amazing insights as "Nintendo rocks!" or "Mario is fun!" or "That level was hard!" I mean, no offense, but such things really didn't need to be written, published or read by anyone. Like bloody Twitter, it's all so insubstantial. Reading it is like eating a bowl of rice, one grain at a time. There's more interesting conversation and interactivity on one comments thread on Nintendo Life than there is on the entire Miiverse network, I guess because here you can say things beyond banal platitudes (not that I think it should be in-depth because that exists elsewhere and would make its vastness even more insurmountable than it already is).

It just seems to be yet another outlet in the modern online world for mass information overload. An overwhelming, exhausting blizzard of text and information that's impossible to consume, to even begin to consume, where nowadays, for some reason, everyone's every single waking thought has to be published and read. I mean, I look at Miiverse and I think "Am I actually supposed to read all this?" By the time you've seen one post about a million more will have been uploaded. Like other social media, it's just everyone shouting at once and therefore it's impossible to listen to anyone. It's another relentless noise that we're all drowning in and is probably driving us all insane.

However, in all fairness, I think Miiverse could work, in a parallel universe where the Wii U is more popular and all your friends have one. Then it would be a kind of Facebook for gamers/Nintendo fans (which I believe is what Nintendo envisaged) because I would actually be interested in what my friends were saying or doing in their games via Miiverse (I mean, not that much, but their comments would at least mean something to me). Even though I've slagged off social media here, I'm not against it. I love Facebook because I love interacting and sharing stuff with friends and even if they post stuff that's inane and pointless, because they're my friends, to me it is interesting because I know them and care about them. I suppose in an ideal world that's what Miiverse could be like, so I guess its heart was in the right place.

Miiverse is not intended to replace this experience. It's best for light browsing and quick help requests. I agree about the 3D World in-game comments. I pretty much stopped looking at them after seeing a green-star spoiler.

people harp on about how great it is, but honestly, i can't see why its so popular. nearly every experience i've had on it, i've seen nothing other than Nintendo-worshipping sheep. it really is impossible to have interesting conversation with anyone because every community is full of praise for the game. and i realize that the communities aren't made for interesting conversation, they're for discussing the game, but its hard to critique anything without a thousand fanboys flooding my notifications and sending me hate mail.

i also don't really like how nintendo is handling MiiVerse in their games. in WindWakerHD, you can find tingle bottles with MiiVerse messages, but they're ALWAYS pointless and stupid messages that i had no reason to pick up. either that or its a bunch of male genitalia on my screen. its the EXACT same case with NSMBU and SM3DW, where i receive pointless messages from MiiVerse at the end of a level, such as, "That level was HARD!" or "I did it on my first try!" honestly, i couldn't give a flying turd about whether or not you did it on your first try. i also usually get messages like "best game evar" or "i love this game! so much fun!" honestly, most of the MiiVerse comments are pointless and a stupid waste of my time, and i don't feel good having nintendo implement MiiVerse into ALL of their titles. i could make a book of just MiiVerse posts, and i'd call it "crap no one cares about."

wow, i just got really heated, i'd better calm down. but is it just me, because i'm pretty sure it is. i dont think anyone else thinks MiiVerse is annoying, but i had to get this off my chest.

blue, blue.

my experience with Miiverse has been only positive so far. I asked for help and I got people lending a hand, and I both praised and criticized games with no problems. I understand your point but I don't think Miiverse has been built as a place to have sophisticated conversations. It's mostly a social thingy where people can contribute cute or silly little things, or small impromptu thoughts on games that don't need to be necessary useful or deep or clever. There's a lot of places for involved conversation where dog eats dog - Nintendo didn't need to create another one.

Some people take it very seriously - a mate of mine has created some kind of walkthrough for Wonderful 101 using Miiverse. it is great to have that kind of contribution. I love watching other people's drawings. I usually make silly comments about games that are not meant to lead anywhere. When I decide on buying a game, I usually check Miiverse to see what's the people reaction. I really like this spirit and the lack of pretentiousness and I think it's remarkable from Nintendo to have created a social media that is clean and where people don't take themself too seriously.

Top-10 games I played in 2017: The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild (WiiU) - Rogue Legacy (PS3) - Fallout 3 (PS3) - Red Dead Redemption (PS3) - Guns of Boom (MP) - Sky Force Reloaded (MP) - ...

It really depends on which communities you visit. The more users there are it seems like most of the posts are spam about stuff no one cares about or will experience within the first 30 minutes of playing the game. These posts usually get no replies because there isn't anything to respond to, instead a few random people will throw Yeahs at the post and you'll never see it again.

On the other hand, in the smaller communities I've actually seen and been a part of some conversations. I think it's because the games are more niche, like some of the eshop/VC titles, and the people there are more interested in discussing what's unique/interesting about the games.

I mostly use Miiverse for looking at pictures in the Art Academy community, asking questions if I get stuck in a game, and seeing what ridiculousness is going on in the Dafoeverse.

It would seem, from what you and a few others have said, that you can have fulfilling interactions on Miiverse, but maybe you have to dig a little deeper, away from the immediately obvious stuff, from all the "Zelda FTW!" type posts.

I don't really use Miiverse aside from reading what my friends are doing and posting. It's kind of like my mini-Facebook. Sometimes I'll ask questions about a game on a community and I get several decent answers within minutes, I like that. Everyone is pretty polite.
If I want to discuss things in depth I'll go elsewhere. I knew that from the get-go.

Hate Facebook, Twitter, all those social networks, but I really enjoy Miiverse. Be it the messages that show up in games, or just roaming around on boards for games I own or want.
