Okay, so most of us know that Wii U isn't bundled with Wiimotes (which is kinda dumb, but I sort of understand why they have done so), but many of us have remotes already right? Well, I WOULD be in this group, since I do have four remotes (well technically three, one has completely died), and yet, I still have to buy new ones. Why? Because all my remotes are very old ones that don't have the motion plus built in. I do know that you can buy attachments for the MP, but at this point I'd rather just buy completely new ones, especially considering they are starting to shut down on me. Anybody else in this same predicament?

Nope. Only a select few require motionplus. Pretty much everything can be played with regular wiimotes, especially when it comes to multiplayer. There's only 1 multiplayer game that requires motionplus, and that's Wii Sports Resort. Everything else is regular or optional (Conduit 2, for example).

Oh, well that's nice to know. Guess I'll just need to get one or maybe two. Two of the remotes had acted strange (like the built in mike never shuts off completely, and they rumble randomly when they aren't supposed to) ever since I got them, the now-dead one being one of them. Thus I should probably replace at least those, which isn't that bad I suppose.

TBH I don't think it's going to matter that much. I've got three Wii Remotes, the Skyward Sword "Remote Plus" and with three motion Plus addons. I really dislike the old style non-integrated motion plus and TBH I don't think I've ever used more than two at once. I think your money would be better spent on getting a couple of Pro Controllers than shiny new Motion Pluses.
Lets face it, over the life of the system what are the main games you're going to be playing in multiplayer? Sure there'll be the novelty of Nintendo Land for the first six months or so but beyond that most of the multiplayer time will be spent on the Rayman Legends, New SMB, Smash Bros and Mario Kart. In those more common scenarios the main argument will be about who gets the Pro Controller and who gets the gimped two buttons and a d-pad.
