I'm not going to buy the Wii U for games that could be achieved on 3DS. Zelda looks like it may buck that trend.

The 3DS can't even dream about moving Yoshi's Wooly.
Code name S.T.E.A.M on the other hand could be much better on WiiU but since we don't really know much about it we can't tell yet if it isn't better suited for portable gaming.

And if you haven't played DK: Tropical Freeze, that game makes good use of the WiiU's power.

How so? It looks like a prettier version of DKCR, which was ported to 3DS.

The 3ds version was squeezed onto it and pushed the system to the limit, whilst Tropical Freeze looks similar it does a great job showing the 3d enviroments with camera angles and switching between foreground and background and the DK's fur effects take a lot processing.

How does that affect the gameplay at all though? In an RPG, having more processing power at the very minimum improves the worldbuilding, a really important aspect of the genre. Platformers are about action, so improved worldbuilding isn't all that important, and the gameplay effect of the improved processing power is nonexistent.
