Not their greatest E3 I'll admit. I'm not angry about it, more disappointed, there was all this hype running circles around the Wii 2/Project Cafe and it just built up and up and up... and when E3 came around, I guess we all expected to be absolutely blown away like how we were last year and Nintendo didn't push it forward or ram into our faces... I felt as if Nintendo was going "Uhh... here, take a look at this controller... it has all this shat built into it and no, we're not showing you the console or what it can do."
They could've done much more with this, the only problem is, they were focusing on 4 different consoles, DS, Wii, 3DS and Wii U and I'm guessing they just couldn't get it all out within the 1 hour and 15-30 minute presentation.
Don't hate Nintendo or their console, just their horrendous presentation.
General Rule of the how most people judge on the Internet: If it's new, it's crap. I've only looked at it, and I think it's crap. Everything 10 years ago was perfect because I didn't know much then. Why can't things stay exactly the same, boring way? Why do we have to accept these new innovations?

@90: whilst you do have a point, not all innovation is good. a lot is, but a lot is just gimmicky. i am not saying this in ref to the wiiU, as i don't think i have enough info to make a judgement yet. however, the cost of it is going to be really high most likely. somewhere, nintendo, microsoft and sony need to consider the economy and disposable income available for purchases such as game consoles, the games themselves etc. to invest in a console as pricey as the wiiU is probably going to be, it had damn well better have enough going for it to really blow one's mind. not promises of things to come, but really amazing stuff at launch. which the 3DS did not have.
I'm glad their keeping Wii Remotes. I have 5, a wii remote, wii zapper, wii pistol, two ccp and one regular- I'm happy. I doubt purchasing 3 more WiiU Tablets is necessary anyhow. It'd be good to have friends who have their own tabelts.
And because there is no extra buttons on the WiiU Tablet, I could just use my regular CC Pro to play Smash Bros. with my friends. Not a huge deal, really.
Oh, and I'm SOOOOO getting that Gold Wii Mote to match my GOLD CC Pro. Delicious!

I'm not particularly angry about this thing, but what's rather puzzling to me is the placement of the analogs. Why so high, not to mention placing the analog on the right above the Y X B A buttons?? What was the thinking there?! We don't have 2 right thumbs, or left for that matter. the only other thing I'd like to know is how they intend to stream video to the TV. Although somewhere I did see a picture of a device that probably suggests connectivity to it, which to me would be the smart thing and probably make up the better "console" half, because so far all I really got was that Wii U is a little more like a tablet-like controller.

Well the spacing could use some more work I suppose. In terms of intuitiveness and strain though it seems better to move my fingers down from the sticks than upwards. At least based on how the human hand works anyways.
They probably still have time to adjust any ergonomic issues before release
What about the good things about the Wii U? Like the fact we are finally getting HD? That the graphics are a huge improvement over the Wii? I thought that's what everyone wanted?! Being able to play the game on the controller? Come on! That's so cool.
Motion controls have been around since the Wii started, and they're here to stay, sorry.
The controller isn't that bad. And for goodness sake, you people haven't even tried it yet, and you're already complaining about how big it is and where the buttons are located? How in the world do you know if it's comfortable or not?
I'm not going to sit here and say "THE WII U IS AWESOME" but I think we should be a little more open minded. Everyone is like "It's my way or no way." Just calm down, breath, relax. It's not the end of the world.

Truth be told though, this hype was generated from the gamers themselves and not Nintendo. They were probably really pressured on showing something and hence ended up with a lack luster presentation (in terms of actual software for the Woo ). I'm sure if they didn't have that issue they'd probably hold off the presentation until later, perhaps closer to the actual release date.

They also don't seem to realize that console won't be out for a while. Any quirks could probably be ironed out by the time they have their next presentation.

I have absolutely no troubles with this new console. I'm sure to buy it. Nintendo could've done better but as they have to do better next time too, there's still some secrets that they won't show yet
It's its, not it's.

I don't see how anyone could hate the WiiU already. I mean, the name sucks hard but who cares. It's a Wii....... with the ability to play HD games. It has a screen on it so when someone wants to use the TV you can keep playing your games. Sounds like everything I've ever wanted in a console IMO. I mean really, what's not to like? Did you SEE that Zelda footage?
The only thing not to like about the WiiU ATM is the inevitable non-cheap price and the fact that it isn't out yet.

"Don't stir the pot" is a nice way of saying "they're too dumb to reason with"
Well, see another reason I bring up the analogs thing is because honestly, for games where you need to hold the thing, I honestly couldn't picture myself holding the thing near the top/corners and not dropping it, which in turn is bad news for the touchscreen, unless there's at least some comfortably shaped grips around back.
I'm not sure I have any reason to buy this console. Maybe that will change if they eventually sell me on why this big silly touchscreen controller might actually benefit me in some way or announce any games I absolutely have to play. For now, I'd rather play games in 3D on my 3DS.

I don't believe the controller is completely flat, at least from what I saw of it from the live stream. They may add some shape to it later on though right now these small details are kind of up in the air with a year left till release.
