The only thing I'm angry about is that they didn't explain any new First-Party games, the online, the price, or anything I was looking forward to hearing. The technology looks great though.
Also, I liked the freedom of hand-movement the Wii-mote and nunchuck gave you. I liked to sit by the tellybox, with my hands two metres apart (maybe a slight exaggeration), so I'm in two minds about this new controller.
AirCop wins the thread. Excellent post :3 damn, where's that :gentlemen: when I need it
Why, Miz Dragon, it was right there all along!

3. System is COMPLETELY unlike the Wii. Features built-in motion control for if you WANT it. No sensor bar on your TV. Smaller controller with the touchscreen, with several "apps" that will transform the controller into a "wiimote" for people who want to play Wii games.
Ignoring the contradictions, you just described what they revealed at E3.
Well, I can´t say I´m impressed by the console. The few glimpses of graphics looked quite a lot like the current Microsoft & Sony games. I can´t really see who is supposed to buy the console. When PS3 and 360 are still around, a touchscreen on the controller isn´t enough to sell me a machine with games looking exactly like the competitions.
But Nintendo still haven´t shown any plans for their games, so hopefully they will win me over in time.

Um, take a look at the history of games for the current consoles. Look back at the first 360, PS3, and Wii games and compare them to now. You'll see an obvious gap in the quality of graphics mainly because of how much the technology has advanced. What the WiiU just showed graphically is looks about the best the 360 and PS3 can project so imagine how it's going to look when the actual system comes out or maybe a bit later if need. It has much more power than the other 2, the develops just need the technology and skill to bring out its full power.

Exactly. All the 3rd party games were already planned for PS3/360. We won't know the system's limits until there are games designed specifically for it.
Really looking forward to Wii U. Like the titles iv seen but would like to see what a few more exclusive games will be like. Zelda (tech demo or not) looked awesome.

We´ll have to see about that. Nintendo still haven´t said anything about the machines actual power. I hope you´re right, but so far they´ve shown nothing that indicates it.
Wii U still needs a bit of development before I'm totally sold. The actual reveal of the console could've been better: they obsessed way too much on the 3rd parties.
The game will have been available for all other platforms for over a year by the time the Wii U is released though.
I'm at least intrigued by the concept, but I can't really see it being used for much. I don't have a problems sharing a TV and the fact you can only have one of these controllers connected at a time seriously hampers multiplayer aspects. Also seems the rumours of it merely being onpar with the Xbox 360 were true, which is unfortunate, as it's likely Microsoft and Sony will reveal new systems next year that are even more powerful, leaving the Wii out of the third party ports again.
I like that Nintendo is finally getting some strong third party support and that the new console is going to be powerful enough to run games like Batman: Arkham City, Darksiders 2 and Ninja Gaiden 3. I just hope that the controller will actually be comfortable for playing these games.
I am a little upset. I mean they really needed to show some actual games, like we were promised in these rumors...well that's why they are rumors. Nothing really hard core for us. Sure Mario esque titles and more of that mii stuff...but...cmon.
I know more games will be shows and talked about for these dev conferences later in the day and tomorrow, but more should have been mentioned in this press conference. ESPECIALLY localization mentions for Last Story and Xenoblade.
It was a mistake not to show more games, more exclusives, more stuff a-comin at the press conference.
I'm not totally set on this new system....yet....

Everyone is always bashing Nintendo about either them not supporting third parties or third parties not supporting them. I swear, gamers will never be satisfied.
So obviously you can still do traditionally multiplayer, but I was mainly interested in the concept of it doing Four Swords/Crystal Chronicles style games, where you can be playing co-op but with each player getting their own unique screen with extra information, etc.

If this is true, my level of excitement has diminished considerably, as I am also very interested in the Four Swords style as well. Let's hope that Destructoid got this one wrong, and there can be 4+ tablet controllers.
