Until I heard about Reggie confirming 7 more first-party titles being developed I was disappointed. Who knows what they are or when they come out but perhaps there is still hope.

I just wish he would have told us what they were. Anyway, here's a guess: SSB, Retro's new game, Miyamoto's new IP, probably 3d Mario, and beyond that who knows.
This was a good E3, I'm really excited for Wii U. Pikmin 3 looks amazing, New Super Mario Bros. U looked better than I expected, and the system has so much potential. Although, I did find myself more excited for all the upcoming 3DS games this year.
I didn't mind the violence (being a 360 owner) but I felt like this E3, Nintendo focused a lot on 3rd party games (again) and we all know how that turned out on the 3DS.

It's not really a Nintendo conference when developers like Ubisoft seem to be taking centre stage, please leave them to their own E3 conference. This is for Nintendo, I don't care about Ubisoft... all I'm seeing is 3rd party and this is making me sad face. The only games I'm interested in are the ones coming out for the 3DS...
I'm with OldBoy, I really wanted to see what Nintendo would show with the system with their main characters on-board. But all I got was games with 100% violence, blood, guts and mutated humans... when did this turn into the Microsoft conference? And then 2 new NSMB games, why do we need 4 of the exact same game?
I'm not holding my breath for the 3DS conference but it can't be any worse than today's. If this is the new Nintendo, I'm feeling worried about the future of gaming as a whole... they make some brilliant ideas, but all I'm seeing is a Microsoft/Sony console copy.

I almost 100% agree w/ this. I don't know if Nintendo...well, I really don't know. I think the problem this E3 had, was (that) Nintendo went for 2 extremes: family, & the realistic, &/or semi-realistic blood-&-guts types of gamers. They really showed little, or even nothing of their own well-loved brand of games, except in regards to what to me, appears to be an incredibly easy Mario title.
Edit: I understand that when I was little, games (particularly Mario titles) were of somewhat of a challenge to me, when in reality, they weren't that hard. But I feel this new (3DS) NSMB game is making things incredibly easy, judging by the trailer alone.
If Nintendo wants to have the same games that Sony, & MS have, they have to realize bringing their own brand to the table, in addition to what I could get on other consoles, is necessary. & I'm not talking this new Nintendo brand. Family is important. Friends are important. But, Nintendo needs to understand that there is another segment of gamers, the ones that Nintendo was primarily catering to, long ago, before the Wii/DS. That Nintendo brand.
Yeah, it was pretty disappointing to find that the new console is pretty much just gonna be more of the same. More 2D Mario games, more party games, more sub-par(?) ports of PS3/Xbox games that came out months ago. They were probably putting their chips on the Pikmin 3 reveal, but really. People have been expecting that since 2008. It just makes you think "Oh, they finally announced it."
P-100 did intrigue me since it's being made by Platinum and Scribblenauts Unlimited has potential. But I was looking for something to sell me on the Wii U and I didn't get it.
EDIT: Oh, and no Smash Bros. Instant detriment to their conference.
Maybe this is the year Nintendo didn't fully march to the beat of their own drum, as they usually do, & it backfired. To me, I can handle the party streamers, decorations, etc., but the majority of content that I seen didn't really interest me. I still might get the WU. The WU NSMB game looked neat, albeit similar, of course to the currently commercially available NSMB titles. Pikmin I'm a fan off, though not the biggest fan. NintendoLand,... looks sort of ok. I can sum up my feelings saying I'm partially unimpressed w/ their conference, while a few things I was pleased about, & some games do look neat so far. But, that's just my opinion.
Edit: This just makes me wanna wait a little, to see what MS, & Sony have for their next machines, or at least, what they have up their sleeves, for the next few years. As I keep saying, more than likely, I'll become a WU owner. However, unlike past Nintendo consoles, the Wii being the exception, it's not pretty much a given/a guarantee. Btw, the reason for me not being guaranteed to myself about getting a Wii, when it came out, & the 2, or 3 E3s prior, was an issue of broadband, & money. This, the WU, is the first time that not-so-guarantee, is b/c of content that appears to be coming for the system's lifespan.
I got sick of Ubisoft...sure ZombiiU can be appropriate to show, that was great....but we already had your freaking conference yesterday....it was mostly "Here in case your forgot, check these out from yesterday, derppp" sigh
I also wanted to see more 1st party games to get me excited...and other than that we didn't get really any core surprises....everything was already announced we just ended up getting footage and more info...which is acceptable but I watch E3 for the excitement.
You want a model E3? Nintendo keep checking back to your 2010 presentation. It was amazing.

Yeah, I noticed there were several points where Reggie paused for applause and there was only silence, aside from a few claps or hoots. I hope they know where they messed up because this E3 was the worst one I've seen in several years.
I'm still very much excited for the Wii U. I think Nintendo did a mistake last year with revealing the Wii U so early. They should have waited till this E3 - for the gamers. They in a way were forced to announce it last year though simply to win back third party developers. Otherwise, if they didnt have to convince developers to tap into Nintendo territories again and to make games for a new console, they could have waited till this year for a big surprise reveal. They had to show developers what Wii U is all about so they would come back and start making games for Nintendo again. And that takes 2-3 years for good games so no wonder we wont see the fruits of all new third party titles until later. Of course now everyone is a bit disappointed because there was no wow factor, but I think they had to seperately reveal hardware first and games now because they messed up their relationship with third party developers in the last six years! Convincing those parties after 6 years to invest in Nintendo again takes time and Im absolutely convinced we will see great core games in the future. People forget that developing games takes time! Good ones especially!!
But I was looking for something to sell me on the Wii U and I didn't get it.

Pretty much sums it up really... it was ports, a few Nintendo titles and Pikmin 3, which wasn't a surprise. There was just nothing to warrant getting over excited about, I think the reason why they had the Nintendo Direct was because Iwata wasn't going to be there, I didn't see him at all. Tell me if I'm wrong as half way through I just gave up on it.
And that "we've found a few minutes for the Nintendo 3DS"... wow... you're not even supporting your handheld at E3 much at all, it's all Wii U and I think that's where it failed, having too much of one thing kind of ruins it.
Also the quietness was horrifying, I felt embarrassed for Reggie standing up there with a reveal and getting no applause for it except for a few hoots. 2010 and 2011... the whole room was abuzz. This year... there was nothing. I think it's down to the fact it was stuff we've already seen and nothing really new.
It was disappointing. They spent too much time showing Ubisoft games. They had their own conference, they should have used the time to show more of their own games. I was disappointed with last years E3 but even that was much better. I know we'll be seeing a lot more of the 3DS tomorrow but Nintendo did a really bad job of balancing their time. Last year, on Nintendo's first day of E3, we saw the Wii U reveal as well as a good amount of 3DS games and even a few Wii and DS games, this year it was mostly Wii U games and I know Nintendo would want to focus on this as its their new console but they still could have shown more 3DS games. The 3DS reveal in E3 2010 was fantastic and far better than what was shown of the Wii U last year and this year yet they still had time to show off some awesome new Wii games. E3 2010 was the best E3 in recent years. E3 2009 was much better than this years and last years E3.
To me it seemed like everything was going to be E or M. Either stupid little minigames, easy Mario games, fitness and music, or gory shooters/action games. I was hoping for some Nintendo franchises! Seriously, since this is Nintendo's conference, is that too much to ask for?

I was very disappointed. I think, for once, Nintendo misread the E3 audience. The fitness and singing games should have been left for the roundtable and other announcements — very few people watching E3 care about those games. They could have been announced via a press release. I just didn't see a single unexpected thing other than Nintendo Land, which, frankly, is a "meh" title for me. Worse, they merely announced (afterward, no less) that all of these titles will release within the "launch window." That could mean we get one or two good games and then wait months for the rest. I needed to hear, "Wii U will be out in five months, with three killer first-party titles available on day one, including one unexpected title." And, other than in Pikmin, I didn't see a single thing that led me to believe that the game pad will provide anything that can't be accomplished via a traditional menu or overworld screen. Granted, I know it has the potential for great uses, but the bottom line is, I saw nothing that made me feel like I HAVE to have this on launch day so as not to miss out on a minute of fun.
Well it was upgrade my pc in a few months or buy a wii U at launch now even though nintendo direct was impressive its going to be a while after launch before I pick it up and I dont like the family playing with others concept that the wii u is heavily centered around.
