Deal with what?

Deal with the fact that online, multiplats, and overall third party are never going to be as good as the competition.

Oh I don't know.....FACTS??

-Last gen 360 and PS3 ran circles around Nintendo with their online experience, and look to be doing the same with the Xbox One and PS4 (in terms of user base, online competitive play, applications and software downloads)

-The Wii-U has missed out on the vast majority of multiplatform titles in its first year of existence

-Dozens of top development studios/publishers have cut back on the number of titles they plan on releasing on the Wii-U (Ubisoft, EA, etc) while many more have said out right they have no plans or interest in releasing games on the system

Those are pretty anecdotal "facts". When I see that Wii U doesn't have a DVR or better friend list, I can look at the ammount of RAM the Wii U has and come to a conclusion that it doesn't really matter. Xbox 360's OS used 30mb of RAM to work. The Wii U has ×33 more RAM for its OS than the Xbox 360 does.

So ya, Wii U's OS and such are lacking, but it's only using a fraction of the RAM it has. Also, alot of 3rd parties said they have no plans a while ago. EA has the newset Frostbite engine running in the same next gen category as Xbox One, PC, and PS4.

Lastly, everyone criticised the Wii U, because it got 7th gen multiplats. How exactly is Wii U supposed to get 8th gen multiplats when it's the only 8th gen system? That's why whatever happened in the past year with Wii U doesn't imply anything. It's a good thing that Xbox One and PS4 are here, because it will improve video games altogether.

^this, The weakest thing about Wii U is its processor, On my pc I have a processor that is far worse than the Wii U, but I have a good graphics card and RAM. I can run everything fine from Bioshock Infinite, to Skyrim, to Battlefield 4. The thing that really messes up a processor is render distance, I can have ultra graphics on everything and just have to turn down my render distance in some rooms on my terrible CPU. Saying Wii U's online is worse than PS4's is weird too because the only thing I see wrong with it is user base and sometimes lazy companies not making it work well. Before november I would have trouble finding others to play with from time to time online, but since then I've been able to find an online match no problem. The only company that has 100% pulled everything for sure for the time being is EA. Wii U is getting a ton of awesome Indie games, and Some awesome blockbuster games, While they wont be getting all the third party content PS4 and Xbone get, Wii U will be getting at least some of the really Good ones. Its like were filtering out the okay and meh games in the long run while missing out on a few really good ones. In all reality Buy a Wii U alongside a PS4 or Xbox one and buy what you can on Wii U and what you cant on the others

EA did indeed stop supporting Wii U, for the time being. They did confirm they have their new engine running on Wii U, though. Any game that they think will make money on Wii U, will be able to be ported to Wii U, no problem. I'm personally hoping that they make a good Spore or Sims game that has more multiplayer aspects, makes good use of the GamePad, and possibly Wii remote.

I think EA wasn't entirely sure about BF4 on Wii U. I've read the game is a mess and EA has a situation of their own to deal with, so I wouldn't put it past them to hold off.

@FutureAlphaMale
I guess I'll take that as a compliment.

I just want them to put the BBC Iplayer on the damn thing, although with your Packers thumb nail (Packers fan myself BTW) you might not appreciate my situation. As a gaming console it more then satisfies my gaming needs along with my 3DS, I would love to get a PS4 and XBONE but know that I could not possible give them the time they need to appreciate them. With work, Rugby, studying, girlfriend, looking after the dog and cleaning the house... there's barely enough hours in the day to fit in gaming in but when I do it meets those gaming needs.

Just really want the Iplayer so I can get some Sherlock (TV series), Top Gear, Mock The Week and Doctor Who fix!!!! Oh and the channel 4 and 5 channels too.

I hate to side with SCAR here but although you are right in some respect it's much less the case than it was last gen. Last gen most of the gap between Sony/MS and Nintendo in terms of third party support was in terms of hardware. It only had 512MB of storage for a start so allowing patches and DLC wasn't really an option even if they wanted to. Then for indies, for the same reason, there was a limit on the size of games on the Wii Shop which meant that games that would have come out never did. Super Meat Boy for one. Same was true for big AAA titles where Nintendo didn't have any demos on the store untill much, much later and even then it was very limited.

Ontop of that it was significantly less powerful than the 360 and PS3. The Wii U at least is capable of pushing visuals that sit somewhere between generations and at the same resolutions with all of the same online features if a dev wanted to do that. There's no reason why they can't. Which is more important now than it was at the start of last-gen because there's reason to believe that the PS3/360 will drag out for a good few years yet. Plus we've kinda reached a point where more stylistic games don't really use the extra power anyways.

The real problem with the Wii U in terms of third party support is install base. Plain and simple. It's not an insurmountable problem as it was with the Wii, it's something that can turn around in a year if the Wii U starts selling well. If by 2015 the Wii U is still not 3rd globally then we'll start seeing the third party content come.

I don't regret my purchase at all! I do regret registering my NNID on my roommate's Wii U before I got my own however.

I have loved my Wii U. No regrets. Won't play most of the 3rd Party crap anyhow.

Currently Playing: Dragon Age: Inquisition

Love the Wii U. I always have fun when I play games on it, and that's the most important thing. Nintendo knows how to make a good, fun game that doesn't need trophies/achievements in order to add to replay value. You replay Nintendo games because they're fun.

My only regret is that it doesn't do my laundry.

What he said, all the way.

I cant uderstand all that crying about "thrid party support". What does it mean to you ? We have so many people on here debating on getting Mario Kart 8 OR Smash Bros 4, implying that they either lack proper finances or the time to buy / play both. And there are still people crying about wanting to have even more games ? Whats wrong about having fewer really awesome games in comparison to having a whole bunch of mediocre games that you might not even finish, and if you do, you probably wont pick it up ever again.

What are people expecting when buying a nintendo system ? Nintendo is the only company out of the big 3, that makes consoles as well as games for it. Thats the biggest asset that sets them appart from the competition. The other two consoles basicly only exists because of third (or at least second) party developing studios.
Exclusives are the bread and butter of a games console. Having basicly every game on every console is a bad thing if you ask me. It makes the whole "which console to get" debate totally pointless. I especially like nintendo because of games that will only be present on these systems. Call me "outdated and oldschool" but these type of things have a certain charme to them. The "console wars" died with the HD console generation and i have no idea why people are keeping that stuff alive.
Back in the day (SNES / Genesis era), deciding which console to get wasnt just a question of two or three exclusive IPs, you chose a completely different gaming experience. The consoles were vastly different, the controllers had their own layout and purpose and the game library was basicly like night and day with just a handfull of overarching titles.
And because of that difference, because nintendo never goes the same way as the others i will always choose a nintendo console over everything else, even if it means that i wont have a huge game pool that, in the end, doesnt interest me at all. And i have yet to regret a single nintendo system purchase

@Gamecubed Thats where the "U" in WiiU comes into play: "U" do the laundry and Wii play afterwards But you have to give it credit, it at least changes TV channels for you

@CanisWolfred Even with a LOT of fantasy and mind bending, i have NO idea how you came to THAT conclusion ?
But as long as it works for you, do as you like Different people, different taste. No one is forcing you to buy nintendo products. If you dont like them, stay away, simple as that.
If youre fine with what the competition is offering, good, im not.

...so basically, what you're saying is...we should stop buying Nintendo consoles? That works for me.

That's why it's important that Nintendo has 1st party AND 3rd party games. People want Zelda and FIFA. So far, only Nintendo is delivering.

If 3rd parties don't release games for Wii U, I'm knowledgeable enough to know that 3rd parties are being piles of garbage. It's a good thing that nothing that determines the Wii U and 3rd parties fate for this gen has occurred, yet.
