At first there were regrets and that sad feeling, because it was a gift. As soon as TW101 arrived, I really enjoyed it. And when SM3DW got released I play it a lot and there are no regrets at all. Those two games are system sellers and games worth buying that system
I loved my Wii U when I got it. then during the summer it was a bit rough, but as I got more games, I loved it even more. I love my Wii U for what it is: a game console with fun exclusive experiences.

The problem with some kinds of review aggregation sites is that a score means nothing if the people giving it have no reputation to lose. A lot of the better review aggregates work because the people giving out the scores have a reputation to uphold. What better way to do that then to make the quality of reviews your job. A site like IGN for example sells reviewer credibility whether people like it or not. If they start giving out unreasonable scores people will stop going to their site to find out if a new piece of content is any good. And yes I know there is clickbait and I know some people hate IGN and think they're biased or whatever... but that's the truth of it generally.
Not the case with user reviews unless you somehow find a way to build in a reputation system. For example Rate Your Music creates a profile for you and displays all of your reviews for all to see. Then ontop of that the algorithm, as is the case with metacritic's critic score, knows how close to the mark your reviews actually are. If you haven't given many reviews yet or you're constantly giving great games 1s then the weight of all of your reviews goes down. If your scores vary and you tend to represent the community more then your scores have more weight. This isn't the case with user reviews more generally, that's why they really aren't worth anything.
I am not really regretting it either, but that is because I didn't pay full price and I already have quite a bunch of good games! However, if the Wii u gets discontinued in a year or so, that would be terrible! And almost no good, new third-party games on the Wii u: It's a shame! At this point I don't think the situation will improve! And Nintendo should focus on more franchises then just Mario and Zelda!
I don't regret my purchase in the very least, partially because I bought it for Wonderful 101. And playing that (And SO many after) validated that purchase. Yes, I missed out on the gaming drought but...there will ALWAYS be a drought here and there on ANY system. Granted, third party support would help, but Nintendo quality takes a bit of the sting out of it, at least for me.
I also wait until there are a few games out before I get a console, so never, NEVER at launch. Not to be dismissive of the PS4 or Xbox One either but...do they have a lot announced for this year? I can think of Infamous, Metal Gear and Titan Fall... and Watch_Dogs. I know there are more but...are there fixed release dates? Do we know whether or not there will be a drought for them? Because from where I stand, their releases seem similar to Nintendo's quantity-wise.
Graphics come after gameplay. Every time. It takes more than being pretty to be a good game.
Nope, I'd regret it if I didn't have the Wii U. I've actually used my Wii U every day; be it to play the awesome exclusives that Nintendo is known to have, downloading games like Duck Tales and Bit Trip Runner, chatting and looking at some of the amazing posts on the Miiverse, using the gamepad's off-screen function so that others can play games or watch TV, to watch anime through internet browser and just playing offline or online multiplayer games with my friends. I love it, it needs more love and marketing. A different name might have been nice too, but what'cha gonna do?

Am i the only one who loves the wii u for its controller? I was so excited to buy it at launch all because of the screen on the controller! not having to use the tv when someone else is using it is amazing and i do it all the time. The reason you regret buying this system is because you did not buy the wonderful 101. that is all
Got mines early November 2013 and haven't regretted not one bit. The Zelda bundle is awesome. Then Mario 3D World came out in the middle of that following month, picked up Lego Marvel Super Heroes last month. Still not bored. Booted up eShop and downloaded Trine 2 and Toki Tori. Gonna get Mario & Sonic next week. After that.....Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze.

I bought my Wii U on launch day a little over a year ago, and it hasn’t gotten as much use as I’d originally hoped it would. Recently, though, I’ve been playing my dusty ol’ Wii U more than my shiny new PlayStation 4.
The Wii U is struggling to stay afloat in the deep waters that are the next (now current) generation of consoles. Nintendo, as usual, has little to no third-party support, and consumers can’t justify buying a Wii U for $299 when they can get a PlayStation 4 for just $100 more or an Xbox One for $200 more.
If I were running Nintendo, I would be trying like hell to get third-party support from big companies like EA and Activision. Mario and Zelda cannot sustain the Wii U, especially when system sellers like Super Smash Bros. are also coming to the 3DS. No one is going to buy a Wii U for Super Smash Bros. if they can get it on the 3DS, which is much cheaper.
Why not bring in some new IPs? Sony and Microsoft do this all the time, but Nintendo seems to rely on characters that have been around for decades. We all adore Donkey Kong, Mario, and Link, but why not bring in someone new? Or, they could just fulfill my dream of playing a third-person shooter featuring Mario and company.
Super Mario 3D World gave me some hope that Nintendo can still create amazing games for its home consoles. There aren’t many system-selling games on the Wii U. In fact, I think 3D World is the only system-selling game currently on the Wii U, but most people who want Mario games bought the Wii U a long time ago.
If Nintendo doesn’t step it up and release some system sellers and get strong third-party support from big developers, their console will fall off the map and be forgotten forever, and that’s a shame.
What do you think Nintendo should do now? Should they work hard to try to make the Wii U work, or should they just give up? Let me know what you think in the comments below.
I think my problem was that I got my Wii U too early. I got it in february as a surprise gift. Tbh Wii U owners are going to have to accept that the online, multiplats, and overall third party are never going to be as good as the competition.
However, the best way to enjoy your Wii U imo is to accept it for what it is. If you buy good games for it, accept its flaws, and give the system an honest chance you'll most likely enjoy it.
