Topic: Any online coop campaign games on Wii U where two people can play against the A.I. throughout the entire story.

I'm getting tired of the violent shoot - kill only to shoot - kill more games on the PlayStation and Xbox that I can play with friends online through the campaign. I'm hoping that Nintendo offers some great titles on the Wii U (thinking of getting one) where players can play together through the campaign via online in separate locations. I'm hoping that Mario Kart 8 allows online play for two people to play the grand prix together, or any Mario games that allow the same style. Although the people at GameStop said they really don't know of many games that allow online coop, except shooter, through the multilayer let alone the campaign for this console. Please help because I miss playing Nintendo games, been away for 15 years, and really want to come back, but need to have some online campaign coop due to all my friends are thousands of miles away, unfortunately it will stay that way for another two plus years. Thank you for the assistance and helping me find what I need because I'm done with this shooting multiplayer stuff, it's making me sick.

Um. If you're looking for online multiplayer, wii u wouldn't be your best choice. There's no online Co op for any game that I can think of off the top of my head.

The closest I can think of is Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate.

That's actually a great suggestion. It's unlike anything you may have played and it's going to be hugely rewarding questing together. Great game.

But as for others, yep, as great as nintendo games are this online co-op lack is their achilles heel if you ask me I hope they'll take it way more seriously in the future because I'm one of those people that just love it.

As others have stated, Nintendo is lagging in the online arena. Trine 2 comes to mind though. Unfortunately there are more games that lack online co-op campaigns than games that have it. And there's a few that would benefit from it.
Does anyone know if the Dungeons & Dragons game and Mysterious Cities of Gold have online?

Chonicles of Mystara can do it I think.

Resident Evil Revelations, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, and Dungeons and Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara are the only online co-op games for Wii U. I highly recommend Resident Evil Revelations for Wii U or 3DS (both have the online modes).

Thanks for the tips everyone, Dungeons and Dragons Chronicles of Mystara, Trine 2, and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate will be the best in interest. The person who wants to play games with me hasn't played since the SNES side scroll era of games and is not too talented in using two analog sticks as of right now which eliminates most PS and Xbox games. I know about Trine 2, played it before on the PS3. The other two will be new for me to get into because the last Nintendo system I got into heavily was the SNES because FF was transferred to PS one only for their numbered games and that was what I was into at that time. Now at 30 I'm ready to get back into Mario type of games because I miss the mechanics of pure enjoyment from Nintendo.

Thanks Kodeen for the heads up.

Also Monster Hunter 3 has a bit of a learning curve about 1 to 2 hours. So I recommend sticking with it and watching some tutorial videos. I can hit you up with some tutorial videos if you want.

Was Mariobro4. No, I'm not taking off my backpack...it's important.

A word of caution, then, Monster Hunter also uses the twin stick setup.

I think Bayo2 is going to have an online co-op mode, right?

Top-10 games I played in 2017: The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild (WiiU) - Rogue Legacy (PS3) - Fallout 3 (PS3) - Red Dead Redemption (PS3) - Guns of Boom (MP) - Sky Force Reloaded (MP) - ...

Yep, the game only has online co-op so no local.

I was surprised that Nintendo received Bayo2 as an exclusive title. Does Nintendo have any plans to release an online co-op Mario game in the future that anyone may have heard of yet? Sure couch co-op is way more fun, but sometimes that is not an option for people.

I do appreciate the comments; it is something I was unable to find on other console company's forums, especially with such hospitality towards one another.

@awraywray you're welcome. Apparently Bayo2 was a cancelled game that Nintendo "saved" by financing the production and acting as a publisher, so that's why it's an exclusive. There's a long Nintendo Direct on Bayo2 (you can see it on youtube) where they explain the online co-op mode - you can decide if it's something you might enjoy. There's also a number of games in the pipeline with strong emphasis on online, although they might not offer "co-op story modes". Smash Bros and Bayo2 are coming in a month or so. Devil Third is going to rely heavily on online (I think!), and Splatoon is obviously going to be a belter. And then there's Mario Maker, which will allow you to create your own Super Mario stages and share them with your online friends - can't think of a better friendship than one based on exchanging sadistic Mario levels.
No online co-op Mario game as far as we know, but who knows - there's still two pure platformers scheduled for 2015 (Yoshi and Kirby), so Nintendo might decide to include such a feature, although I don't think it will happen.
