I hope that it's Metroid Prime: 4. I just bought the Metroid Prime Trilogy earlier today and beat that Parasite Queen just a couple of hours ago. I love the game, the only flaw I had with the controls is the scanning. I have to scan every two seconds, and I just read the instructions as "press '-' to scan" but you're really supposed to hold '-,' move to the top of the screen, and then release it. I died at least twice when that first level had a countdown and I was spamming the '-' button trying to figure out how to change to Scan Mode.

I'm not sure what happens in the end of Metroid Prime 3, and I don't want to spoiled. But is there a reason why nobody in this thread is suggesting a fourth Metroid Prime installment?

Also, what's so bad with Metroid: Other M? I bought the game for less than $10 a couple of months ago and haven't played it. I read Nintendo Life's review and it wasn't bad. What was so bad about it?

The fighting for one thing, you have to have to be "authorized" to use your abilitys at all, you still have all your skills and everything. But you can shoot a missle when you want to.

Also how they portrayed samus bugged a lot of female gamers (including myself) and even male gamers as well. She is just a lot less of a bounty hunter and more of a....well...damsel in distress.

A damsel in distress that's killing aliens left and right, but shows emotion. I didn't really have a problems with it. It makes sense to me that she would respect Adam's authority considering her past with him. She could also get in trouble with the Galactic Federation for disobeying him as well. I thought it was a good game and I enjoyed it.

Actually MP 3 ending just support the theory of a fourth MP installment.

I agree. For the next game the Galactic Federation should send Samus on risky/illegal/unethical missions and then she finds they're up to something, and partners with Anthony Higgs and eventually Sylux. That's be sweet.

I couldn't see Sylux and Samus teaming up together, if you don't know Sylux has a "past" with samus and caused him to compleatly hate her, honestly I could see Slyux being Samus rival throughout all future games kinda like a Red/Green Rivelry but less friendly.

I enjoyed Other M and wouldn't mind another game in that direction. Tighten up the combat a bit, add support for other controllers, allow skipping/pausing of cutscenes, get rid of the scanning parts, and you're pretty much good to go.

Prime trilogy was great, but I think it would be best to leave it as it is. There's only so much you can explore between events of games that are already out. A new Metroid game needs to be set after Fusion.

Is Hunters actually worth playing?

Hunters is one of my top games lol, so I would be a little biest but there is a good chance I think that some of the other if bountyhunters not one of the bounty hunters from Hunters will be on SSB, also the online matchmaking for hunters was fun, you can even chose to use the others and not Samus.

@CaviarMeths I haven't played Other M so I can't hate on the story or the controls and whatnot, but I don't like the fact that it's 3rd person. 1st person was so perfect for the series when they showed how it could work with the prime trilogy and it just seemed like a step backwards going back to 3rd person. If they did another game like Metroid Prime 3, but expand on the space travel to make it similar to Mass Effect where you can go around accepting different missions and go to the planet and do those missions, that would be really awesome. You are supposed to be a bounty hunter after all, and bounty hunters are hired to kill things.

1. The 3 Prime games are somewhat connected in story and that story did end with 3.
2. Other M's writing was objectively terrible.

There's already a fourth Metroid Prime installment, actually there's a fifth as well. Metroid Prime 4 though, a possible sixth installment, can happen based on the ending for Metroid Prime 3. There are plenty that believe Prime 3 was the end of the Prime games; however, it is very open to continuation and it definitely deserves to have those potential arcs explored. Nintendo's hesitant on this direction though because of all the costs that went down the drain for Other M, which unfortunately wasn't successful and Retro Studios, the go-to developer of first person Metroid, is handling a more successful series: DK.

Metroid Other M is mainly bad when it is experienced without fully understanding the details of the franchise and failing to apply those details. I wouldn't recommend Other M's story to someone who isn't an open and aware hardcore Metroid fan, as it goes deep into the franchise material at times. I really enjoyed it and, once you get really into Metroid, would start to recommend it.

Sadly no news will it happen eventually most likely I feel as if though we might get a 2D metroid game though, it just feels like something Nintendo would do especially since it's been a while since we've had one and it would drive the fans wild.

2D games are usually fun, but I think it would be a mixed reaction, I myself would just be happy for a Metroid game.

Yeah, especially with the success of games like SteamWorld Dig... I just feel like the climate is perfect for a new (handheld?) Metroid.

Heck we've seen what Nintendo's 'rookie' team can do with a game like NSMB2; just get someone on this, STAT.

The lasts news relating to Metroid at all that I recall was RETRO saying how they chose DK over Metroid because they still have unfinished business with DK Country. Also Gameinforner said that all the Wii U's problems can go away by one simple solution: METROID. And aside from that, Metroid news has been quiet.

Retro chose DK over Metroid because they knew a new Donkey Kong Country game would sell more units than a Metroid game because DKC is a sub-series of Mario, and Mario games sell LOTS of units. Think about it.
And Metroid being Wii U's answer to sales? Em, no. I mean, Metroid is a solid franchise, but not enough to dramatically increase Wii U sales.

Here is my problem with the game. I frankly don't care if an exploding baby Metroid makes Samus feel all blue inside. I like my Samus the way I like my winters - cold, merciless, and the cause of lots of deaths. I always felt bad-donkey when playing Metroid games because I would run around, shoot everything that moved, kill aliens, and move on. Samus having feelings didn't make the game better or Samus more believable. It made me feel like Samus was weak despite killing a bunch of aliens. Emotions are weakness.

Trace is unbalanced, but he can be countered. It helps that the Imperialist requires the most precision, the trade-off to its offensive power. Offensive attacks that are open to longer durations work best against Trace, such as the Shock Coil when locked and the status effects of the Magmaul burn and Volt Driver distortion.

They can start making more plots that don't have Metroids as a part of the plot, and rather focus on creating unique missions for Samus Aran instead of going down the route of redundancy. The sequel for Fusion for instance should be completely focused on the corruption of the Federation for its plot.
