Cool! Wish the 3DS's eShop was this lenient with sales.

Correction: it should be like that Game of the Weekend back at 8-Bit Summer, only with more games at a time and with more drastic sales. =P

Well, anyways, I'd like to see sales happening for the retail downloads, as well. I'm a person that'll go all digital, so that would be a very nice thing to happen.

Metroid, Xenoblade, EarthBound shill

I run a YouTube/Twitch channel for fun. Check me out if you want to!

Please let me know before you send me a FC request, thanks.

Oh, great. I just bought Trine 2 at full price. This has happened to me with the 3DS eshop, too. I hate sales.

^Don't be selfish about that. if you bought it earlier, you obviously thought it was worth that price. Anyone alienated by a sale shouldn't whine.

With the exception of glitch deals like penny games. Those you can be jealous of.

That's great for everyone who gets to buy it at a reduced price. But it sucks for me. I'll whine if I want to. Wah...

You chose to buy it did you not? This is only a temporary sale. It's like the people who wanted an Xbox for regular price, but held off until Black Friday for a sale price while others didn't. Nobody should expect reciprocation.

MAYBE for permanent price drops or very sudden updates like the Ambassador program, but those are rare cases.

I don't get people who complain about sales. I mean, there are plenty of times I buy a game for full price and it later goes on sale. Am I bitter? No, because it's EXPECTED. If it upsets someone that much, they shouldn't buy games until they see them on sale. Be patient or pay full price.

In other words, the extra money spent paid for the opportunity to have it sooner. If that isn't worth anything to a person, they should just wait for sales like this.

Trine 2 isn't out in Australia yet so I can't buy it at all. Consider yourself lucky.

Sometimes it's ok to be upset without being bashed by everyone...oh wait this is the internet. Nevermind :3

I wasn't singling anyone out or bashing them, I was simply offering an alternative way to look at things. It's not like the money is wasted, it's spent to have the game earlier. It should be assumed most titles, especially popular ones, will be on sale at some point. There is always the option to wait for one of those sales. Choosing to not wait is simply deciding to pay to have it now.

Yeah, but can you imagine for a second how annoying it would be for a game to go on sale the exact day after he bought the game. No warning, it just happened. That'd be a little irritating. If he wants to complain let'em. I understand where you're coming from though.

There is unfortunately no remedy for such a thing. Even if they gave out a warning a week in advance, it would just alienate the people that bought it before the warning was made.

The only "fair" solution would be to reimburse people who own the game already whenever a sale comes up. But that's a tad absurd and never going to happen... unless Iwata feels bad.

If you buy a game for 19.99, it's because you felt is was worth 19.99. That's all there is to it, IMO. 99% of stuff in the world will be be reduced in price as time goes on, so it is simply something that should be considered when you buy something.

The 3DS eshop said which games were going to be on sale when. I think it was just the Mario games during the summer, but it was still nice to know ahead of time.

Iwata had very little to do with this. Developers are actually able to make their own sales
