If anything, the Gamecube was a lunchbox. A very bad lunchbox. :(

The GCN along side it's controller especially when revealed was a pure example of Next gen ashtetics as far as creativity goes. Weather you like the purple lunch box or not, it's pretty unique and to go with 'purple was an awesome risky move by nintendo. the GCN controller itself was like nothing else during the time. But the Wii U?....the design doesn't give me any sense of "OMG it's a brand new Nextgen console, look at that thing!!!" And aside from the screen the controller doesn't do anything original with it's button placement 'or' look it's just.....ya, underwhelming and far too "Wii-ish"

but eh, it tis' what it is. We can always mod it to our liking. Maybe give it a Sky Blue stand, and strap on Some Parakoopa Wings. :p

Bah. The look of the Console means nothing to me. The controllers matter IMO, as you actually come into contact with them, (for long periods of time) and they do need to look appealing. Both controllers and handhelds do pretty well in that regard. I personally am a fan of the WiiU Gamepad. Can't wait to beat people with I MEAN USING it.

I wish. Based on my age, it would more likely be an NES in the shot if that were my childhood.

Wasn't lucky enough to get an NES cake during my days, but i never failed to get TMNT or Mario based birthday cakes. :P Those were the norm! When kids gazed apon Mikey in all of his delicious eye catching turtle icing glory in the late 80's/early 90's a chuck E cheese's party was always bound to break loose.

How dare you insult us Gamecube era children, it wasn't exactly my choice. Lol but yeah, if it weren't for the Wii's VC I wouldn't have had a chance to play all of the fantastic games that I couldn't enjoy before.

I never insulted, i was just pointing out the obvious. :p
I know I know, it sucks we don't have a choice based on when we're born. I'm still a bit annoyed that i wasn't born earlier, but i'm lucky enough to have caught the late 80's when i was 5 & 6 which descended into the almost as awesome 'early early' 90's. But after 93 or 94 things imo gradually became worse. And that's great that you were introduced to the Wii's VC, easily one of the most brilliant additions to the console. B-) It got me into the Castlevania franchise after all muhaha.

I hit the big 28 pretty soon here. Tell me, what was it like turning 30? That must of been some pretty freaky 'hard to swallow' stuff knowing that you're 20's are basically He-man history, but i'm sure afterwards you're basically just like 'whatever' After all 30's are still young. It's when you get to 50...That's when you're basically screwed unless you're George Clooeny! :p

Ya....The launch was wicked, but i lost interest half way during that generation with videogames all together. Partying took over, what can i say. Beer & woman were more important to me during the time than videogames were. I really should of struck a balance between the two, but i was in full out party 'dude mode' :p Resident Evil 4 was the only GCN title later on to kick me back. But ultimately it was the wii that got me into gaming again aside from the DS Lite.

Thanks Splashy! :P 30 was a pretty significant benchmark. It was a little hard to accept but one thing that helped me handle it was that I knew eventually every 80's child will one day reach it. I figured it is the price I must pay for living in 9 out of the 10 years of the glorious 80's B-)

Remind in advance when you're birthday is coming up so I can prepare a NES cake filled with Turtle pie green goo! B-)
