Topic: Am I supposed to die this much?

I'm playing Super Mario 3D World for the first time, and I'm only up to the 5th world and I'm dying constantly. Is this normal? It's strange, because I'm really good at Cloudberry kingdom, which is one of the hardest games that the Wii U has.

Once you get use to the mechanics of 3D World you will start to die less.

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Isn't Cloudberry Kingdom 2D? Maybe you're better at 2D platformers than 3D ones. They're both a different style of gameplay/game design.

Except the gameplay in 3D world is ripped straight from a 2D platformer. That explanation would make sense if OP was struggling with Mario Sunshine or Billy Hatcher or something, but 3D world basically plays like New Super Mario Bros.

Probably. It depends on how well you do in 3D platformers.

Now play Bayonetta and then ask the question

Still has 'depth'. so it might be slightly harder to judge jumps. Dunno, some people find judging actions in 3D space harder than doing so in 2D space, especially on a flat screen.

It should fairly easy to jump in 3D World paying attention to the shadow, which is always below the character.

How experienced are you with 3D platformers? Dying a lot in a game is nothing to be ashamed of (at least that's what I keep telling myself).

My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.
