I'm having trouble figuring out some things in Hyrule Warriors, a simple hack and slash game, I feel like such an idiot! Am I as big of a dumbdonkey as I feel?
Well I'm a bit confused on why I need to take control of areas when the goal is to get to the end of the level and especially how to collect Gold Skultulas. Yeah I can play through it fine, but I dunno I'm a little confused on certain details...
While DW plays like a Hack and Slash game there are RTS mechanics involved. You don't just run straight for their main base to win, you have to grab strategic strongholds on the way to make sure your army can advance and defend successfully.
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Why do u make threads like this?
"I'll take a potato chip... AND EAT IT!"
Light Yagami, Death Note
"Ah, the Breakfast Club soundtrack! I can't wait 'til I'm old enough to feel ways about stuff!"
Phillip J. Fry, Futurama

That's not really the goal. Or, it is, but it's one of several smaller goals.
If you don't take over strongholds, enemy units can advance to your base, and once the base is taken over, you lost the battle. Also, Strongholds you take over sometimes reveal a treasure chest with a hidden weapon, heart piece, or even a full heart container, so it's never wrong to go for it.
And Skulltulas semi-randomly appear at a specific spot on the map, indicated by a big spider web on the minimap. Near the center of the indicated area, a Skulltula will hide - listen to a very unusual sound to see if you're getting close to it. Then whack it down, and you get a piece of a picture.
I think he is just seeking attention, someone to make him feel less dumb@ass as he explains he feels....
in other words... attention seeker
a tip: if you have issues understanding certain aspects of certain games, go through the tutorial again, or read the synopsis which comes in almost all games nowadays, or request information on forums, you might say "that's what i'm doing", no, that is not, you want people to say you are not as dumb@ss as you might feel....
next time, don't beat yourself like this, just ask for help, no one is gonna turn his back on you
Here is some help: if you don't know how to grab a gold skultulla you can press "+/Start" ingame and klick on "characters". There you can klick on "Skultulla" and the game will tell you what you have to do in order to make the Skultulla appear. All of the basic ones require you to kill 1000 enemies and in adventure mode you have to kill 1200 enemies and complete the first mission without losing more than 4 hearts in order to make the 2nd one appear. You can also view the above in the battleoverview before you start the battle.
Just like in real life you don't just win by overtaking the enemy base. A victory means nothing if you lost your territory. That's why you have to take bases and defend the ones you have taken.
An easy way to start would be asking for help in the Hyrule Warriors thread.
This. Please feel free to do so! :3
