I enjoy mine but if I were on the fence I wouldn't unless I got a deal (my friend picked one up at a closing kmart 80 bucks off). I'd wait until the holidays. Game consoles pick up steam around their second holiday.

Oh, and despite what some people say, Nintendo won't fail during the Wii U. They have no debt and enough cash to struggle for about a decade. Honestly, Sony is in a much worse spot financially and needs PS4 to succeed ..I hope it does. Competition is good.

Never buy a console that you need an entire forum to sell you on.

What he lacks is hands on experience; word of mouth is a reasonable substitute.

Just get it, then get an Xbox Infinity for other next gen games, and you'll be set for next gen. Or you can buy PS4, then buy a Wii remote and Kinect sensor called Move and PS Camera, respectively, but it will most likely cost the same as both Wii U and Xbox Infinity cmbined.
It's really up to you, but I would recommend waiting for Xbox infinity(TBA May 21st), or just buying a Wii U now. Wii U has a lot of good concepts with potential that hold a lot of promise.

If the games out now interest you yes. If the games in the Eshop interest you yes. If you want to play Wii games that maybe you've never played then yes.

Had mine since launch I love it every bit as much as my other consoles just for different reasons.

The games that are out I'm happy with, I honestly don't know how many games people need at one time in my opinion the number of games is fine and more are coming.

I absolutely love the off TV play it let's me play when the wife wants to watch TV. I love TVii use I it all the time for sports.

Hope this helps some I think this system will only get better with time people get so negative especially with consoles. And I think even with the ps4 and next Xbox people will still complain.

I buy them all eventually each for their own unique experience.

My advice is to wait until there are games you want available, then buy it. Like the current (limited) launch title lineup? Buy it now. Want something more like 3D Mario or Mario Kart? Wait until after E3 or so.

if the games that are out now or any of the announced games are interesting to you then yes buy it now but if not wait till after E3 to see if anything catches your eye

and don't take any notice of all this bad stuff from EA because they are pretty much the only ones saying it at the moment and i still think it's down to EA being peed off because Nintendo wouldn't use Origin as their online platform which would have given all control of it to EA

and yeah there are a few third party publishers on the fence but they are waiting to see how well it sells first and once a new Mario or Zelda is released it will sell

also it's already been proved that the Wii U is more powerful than the PS3 and 360 and the whole thing about it's not is just EA, honestly they are the only ones saying this but EA are bunch of XBOX fanboys anyway and while it won't be as powerful as the PS4 at the end of the day it's not about how powerful it is, it's about enjoying playing the games and you don't need a mega powerful machine to do that

In all honesty no it is not worth getting one right now. If I where you I would wait until around Christmas time. See what games are out then. If your American don't you guys have that black Friday promotion around then? Maybe the wii u will have a decent discount then.

This is what people has been saying now for about 20 years or so..

Nintendo has actually never been as succesful, ever, as they were with the DS and Wii.. so there wont be any doomsday.

The PS4 comes with the Playatation eye. Playstation Move controllers aren't so expensive as to equal the cost of Wii U either. They also are not required.

It highly depends on what games your into, if you want all the latest games which are mostly 3rd party the Wii U is not a good idea. I would say people buy a you Wii U mostly for 1st party games and not for 3rd party because that would be a mistake. And if you are wanting mainly 1st party support, give it a few months where there will be more games to choose from.

Next gen i know mainly about the PS4 as i'm not really interested in the nextbox, and it will not cost you like the PS3 did as some would like you to believe. There are statements from the men themselves pointing out this fact if you can be bothered to look that is.

Thank you all so very much! Ive always been more of a handheld person. Actually, the last home console I actually had and played was the gamecube. Until recently i couldnt care less about the Wii U, but some of the games are sparking an interest. And I really do love ninetendo's first party games so I think Im going to wait awhile to save up some money and to see what e3 brings. Again, thank you so much! And you all can still post more stuff on here if you think of anything else about the wii u.

Who would win in a fight? Kratos or Mario? I rest my case. You now know what you need to do, for you, for your country, and for the world. Oh yeah, and think of the children and uh... adopt a pet today, and all that good stuff.

Now that's a sell job full of win.

Will you please post jokes that actually make sense, AussieBloke? All I'm seeing from your posts are anti-jokes and vast wastes of kilobytes.

On Topic: Like CanisWolfred said, you're going to have to determine the end result for yourself. However, in terms of power, the Wii U is slightly better than the PS3/Xbox 360 but is definitely not as powerful as the PS4 will be (assuming Sony doesn't cut down on the specs, which is a possibility given their financial situation). The power of Microsoft's next console is still unknown to the public at this point.

Mario would win Mario isn't scared of the gods, either.

How can it have better games? Besides the fact that they have no choice but to wait until the holiday season anyway(which will bring tons of releases for Wii U), the games on PS4 look like 1.5 versions of games we can already buy on existing consoles. The gameplay isn't even any different.
