I really want a wii u, but ive heard numerous times that its crap. Is it going down the drain, or is it just doing a 3ds 2.0 and just needs some games? Also, I heard that its no where near as powerful as the 360/ps3 let alone the next gen consoles. Please tell me why or why not to get the wii u.

Wait for all your Nintendo games to be on other consoles, which will happen soon!

For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday.

A Nintendo forum is going to be quite biased.

Check a Sony forum, where it's fair and balanced.

I hate to say it but...worth is in the eye of the beholder. What do you want out of the console? What types of games do you want to play on it? What's coming out for it? What won't come out for it? These are the questions you can ask yourself, and easily solve through research - look up lists of games. Look up features. Look up what new things may or may not be coming to the console. It's work, yes, but at least you'll get the hard facts and get the answer from the person you should trust the most: yourself.

Gotta wait for E3. We all do both Wii U owners and those yet to buy one to really know what's in store

I've owned it since launch, and I'll say it was not worth buying then or now unless the money is burning a hole in your pocket. Wait for the games. But it is more powerful than the PS3 and the Xbox 360.

I'd wait until this holiday to be honest. Most consoles don't really pick up until their second year

No.
If you wait a few months there will more games and a price drop is inevitable with the way the system is selling at the moment.

Four more months until Bayonetta 2.

Yes. I highly recommend you get a Wii U. While yes, it may be lacking in games at the moment things can only get better at this point!

The Wii U is definitely stronger than PS3 & XBOX 360. And I can guarantee you that the PS4 & Next XBOX will certainly be stronger than Wii U, but that doesn't mean the Wii U won't be able to supply you with many incredible games!

The Wii U will be the only home console where you can enjoy some of the most famous game series on Earth, such as: Super Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Kirby, Pokemon, Pikmin, Yoshi, Smash Bros, and more! All for the first time in glorious 1080p HD!!!

Not to mention plenty of 3rd Party Exclusive titles like: LEGO City Undercover, Bayonetta 2, Sonic Lost World, Wonderful 101, and Monster Hunter 3!

And the Wii U will also be included for multiplatform titles like Batman, Assassin's Creed, Rayman, LEGO, Resident Evil, Splinter Cell, Tekken, and more!

And the Nintendo eShop is home to many unique and fun indie titles, as well as a growing Virtual Console service that supplies you with the many classic and nostalgic titles from the consoles of the 80's & 90's era!!!

All while also having an active and vibrant online social network known as the Miiverse, where you and millions others from all over the world can discuss the latest and greatest games on Wii U!!

I can't wait for the inevitable "Sony and Microsoft will prevail even in troubling times" articles

If you want to play Nintendo games then yes
If not but playing games off-TV seems like a good idea then maybe
If neither of these things appeal to you then then wait and see

@Mr.WalkieTalkie well said, sir.
And I will add that for me it's all about the gamepad. In fact I never turn the TV on. I play it like a handheld which was THE selling point for me since I hate sitting in front of TV to game (alone). But I'm an artist and like my work close to my eyes and I seem to game the same way since I'm manipulating what's on the screen, lol

MeWario

All I can say is that I love mine and I bought it a while after launch so I still have games I'm getting through. It's a great time to get one actually.

It's Wario time Yaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!

There definately won't be a price drop once games come out, because there will be more reason to own one.
Nintendo games will stay on Wii U and 3DS.
You're gonna get the same answer anywhere you go. Being on a Nintendo forum(where you made this thread) and seeing negativity still present, your gonna see more people telling you to get Wii U(at least you shoukd).
Actually, go to PS version of Nintendo Life(Push Square), and you will see the forums are deader than dead. All the PS forum goers have migrated to Nintendo sites, so going to the PS site as far as NL goes won't be necessary. Your already in the PS forums in other words.
