I was going to get one today...a WiiU, I mean. I thought about it all day, and was so hyped. But...then...I changed my mind. I want to play Super Mario 3D Land, so bad! Mario Kart 8 isn't even really a game I am super hyped for, although it does look great. I really want Smash more. I really want Fire Emblem, and the next Xenoblade even more than that!
And, that's why I think I didn't pull the trigger. The price is fine, it's not even that. I don't care about the Gamepad, really. Whatever. I just want to play Xenoblade, and Fire Emblem. And not having those out is keeping me from buying Nintendo's home console.
Anyone else like me...and waiting on a specific game?!
Atari 2600, Commodore 64/128, Sega Genesis, 32X, Sega CD, PC, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Wii, PSP, DSi, PS3, 3DSXL, WiiU
The game I was waiting for was Zombi U, which was launch so I got it at launch. Such a fun game. I understand how there isn't anything out now that you are hyped about but if there are any games out now that you want to play before those other games come out you might want to re-re-consider...
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

@Dreamsleep: I bought a Wii U just because, I don't think I waited for anything specific, it was just a matter of funds. I was quite looking forward to playing Super Mario 3D World and Rayman Legends though.
There will likely be a Smash bundle, so maybe you're best waiting for that. A $60 game that you really want is worth more than 2 $60 games that you don't want.
Also, I think the game with the promo anyway is New Super Mario Bros. U, not 3D World (or Land...). And I'm assuming you mean FExSMT.

Can't say I agree with your decision, but I respect it nonetheless. So, there's nothing on the Wii U landscape that's screaming "BUY ME!!" except for upcoming games?
Also, Super Mario 3D World >>>>>>>>> Super Mario 3D Land. But both are fantastic games.
Formally called brewsky before becoming the lovable, adorable Yoshi.
Now playing:
Final Fantasy XIV (PC) | The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Switch) | Celeste (Switch)
Are you looking forward to Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem (even though there's little information about it)?
Yeah, honestly I could do without the X SMT part, but whatever. I heard that the producer said that things are still going well on that game, so I am super hyped. Fire Emblem is Fire Emblem, even if it's a crossover. I'll take it. Love it!
@Dreamsleep Like WaLzgi said, your approach is a bit....lets just say "special". Those games will come out inevitably, it's not like they may or may not come out. If you're going to buy the console sooner or later, getting it early on is not going to hurt you in anyway. Not to mention due to the promotion you can get 2 games with a price of 1. The only reason to hold off a game console purchase I honestly think you you should reconsider.
Believe it or not, I bought the Wii U for Super Mario World (VC) and Nintendo Land.
I can understand why but I'd still have got the MK8 bundle if you are planning to get one when SSB4 comes out as I don't think another promotion will be run anytime soon and Smash might not have a console bundle.
If anything, buy just the game now and register it, so when you eventually get one (not sure why'd you wait on a bundle like this, but whatever) and then you'll have two games waiting.

Waiting was a perfectly understandable decision. We know next to nothing about Xenoblade or Fire Emblem. They may turn out amazing or they may be the biggest disappointment ever. W'll only know after we've seen some gameplay videos or played a demo.
I got my PS4 because of some of the games that are coming soon. I bought into the hype by expecting those games to, at least, be good. Well, what if they're not? I may still regret my purchase!
Being cautious won't hurt you. You may even find a better deal later on...
We have seen Xenblode X gameplay, they played up till you get to the city. One time focussing on story and the other they went of the road and just explored, and being a spirtual succesor to Xenblade, a massive and beautifull game that pushed the Wii's limits, it can hardly dissapoint.
Everything can change, but I'm never changing who I am

That's the very definition of buying into the hype. I do it all the time — like, I would 100% buy a 3DS for Persona Q, if I didn't have one already — and sometimes I end up regretting it. So don't do what I do, be cautious, and just wait until those two games are actually out.
I just meant to say that they set standards and deliver on them. Their goal is to create the largest world on a WiiU and from what they have show that's pretty mich what they're doing. It's a second party develpor that got there chance on Wii and they deliverd big time. That's why I'm not worried about this, besides we're also talking Nintendo here. But you are right, a bit of caution is never bad.

That's true. That game should have sold millions of copies. No idea why it didn't, to be honest...
No idea either. I would like to blame Nintendo of America for only putting 500k copies into circulation (and seeing as how finding a new copy is pretty much impossible, I'm assuming virtually all of those 500k copies got sold), but America was actually the game's largest market. Europe and Japan, who both saw a much more open distribution, took little interest in the game.
