Yeah, and a lot of people have been waiting years for this to come out. Gearbox needs to take a break from developing I'm afraid. First Duke Nukem, now this.
to be fair, saying Gearbox developed them is a great exaggeration. Duke Nukem was just patching up a disaster of a game from others and they apparently only developed the multiplayer in A:CM while the single player went to some nobodies.
So far the games pretty good. Great cinematic title intro , good atmosphere , nice looking sets and aliens ( and they dont glitch and shuffle at all) . It does feel a little "house of the dead" at times but its Sega. The graphics are up to par for the most part , bar a few bits here and there , but the aliens are spot on. I dont know if reviewers are playing unfinished versions but its ok for me And why reviewers are moaning about to many aliens is beyond me....Its ALIENS and its exactly what we expected . Lots of gun fodder.

well that is the point aliens is not about wild shooting. it is more of a claustrophobic feel and being watched by some aliens that can kill you within a split second. havent you watched the old alien movies?
seems like the game went to blind action instead of a unique experience.
Ive watched the film lots of times thank you. I know it off by heart. If you dont like what you read about it...simple...dont buy it! It seems games cant get anything right these days....people would still piss and moan if there wasnt ENOUGH shooting.
you didnt even try to understand what i was saying...
the nature of aliens is something different than generic shooting.
that game seems like it is just a generic shooter put into the alien universe. nothing special about it. that's why people are upset
It seems like that any game that Gearbox develops that doesn't have the name ''Borderlands'' slapped on it is sh*t. I'll either avoid this like the plague or wait until it hits the bargain bin.
Fair enough , but for years people have been wanting this game with lots of aliens in it. Thats what they have got here. Dont get me wrong , there are lots of going down dark corridors without seeing an alien...and then you wander whats round the corner. Then when they do come its like the part of the film where they come out of the ceiling. And what did folks expect with "Colonial Marines" in the title? For me AlieN was the film with dark brooding suspense. The fear of the unknown. The game is what it is..A shooter. Just trying to give an insifht.

The Brothers In Arms games weren't too bad.

This has to be the single most dishonest review I've ever read, if someone gave this a 6 or even a 7 i'd say they have terrible taste and leave it at that but a 9!! must be a truckload of doritos gone to egm. http://www.egmnow.com/articles/reviews/egm-review-aliens-colo...

Sega begs to differ. And if I'm not mistaking, Gearbox was working on it up until it recently gave a different developer the duty of finishing the offline. So yeah, it's still Gearbox's responsibility.
As for Duke Nukem, it's the other way around, even if I tend to think Gearbox made it worse than it was already.

Forget the review, the thing that was truly terrible about that was the comments section.

So did you read the review, or did you see the score and draw silly assumptions?
The guy clearly didn't play the game much before writing his review. Yes, that's bad. A game should be played enough to formulate a full opinion on it before you set virtual pen to virtual paper.
But I grow very tired of people immediately assuming the writer has been "bought off" because he gives a game a good score that they disagree with. It's childish and it is usually (as in 99 cases out of every 100) completely wrong.

Thanks for the laugh of the day.
Looks like someone has received their paycheck from Sega.
