What a shame. I love the franchise and can you remember all the hype it got, all those videos that looked atmospheric and stunning. Im convinced that we really need to rely on the indies if we want fresh new, awesome games. Sega, what a waste of that licence...

Yeah, and a lot of people have been waiting years for this to come out. Gearbox needs to take a break from developing I'm afraid. First Duke Nukem, now this.

Yeah renting is a good idea, would love a demo though. Did you play the first two AVP games? They were awesome.
I enjoyed the latest AVP game and the RTS one on PlayStation 2. (Not sure if that's the one you're thinking of.) I'm hoping this one is at least tolerable to its predecessors.

Well I meant the original AVP games back on the PC, its a while ago. It had awesome multiplayer. Nothing was more frightening than fighting 5 marines vs 1 Pred. Awesome. Well or just a bunch of aliens VS marines. It even had something I really enjoyed and no other game ever since (as far as I know) had again, it was dynamic explosions. Where the explosions would run FURTHER and stronger in tight corridors and just form a "sphere" in open area. Like the pressure wave racing down a corridor etc... loved it.

Some people are saying its good..especially if your a film fan , and lets not forget ZombiU got mixed reviews. Anyway il be picking this up today on ps3 so il let u guys know what i think from a non commercial viewpoint. And if the wii u version seems better il pick that up when its out. Anyway il keep u updated. Saddle up Apone....
I don't think the argument holds true "its for fans of the film" because after having played it briefly at a friends house, the many FAILS of this game become apparent. The AI is REALLY awful, story sucks and like the reviewer on destructiod (2.5/10) like that other guy above me stated, mentioned - the motion tracker is completely uselss, either you're stuck in an open area and see whats coming or you're stuck in a corridor and there is only one direction anything could come. I would even rate it lower than what it got at IGN, I think the destructoid review is spot on.

Well we'll see , its not a definate that il pick it up twice but today itl cost me a tenner after trade in of completed games so not much to lose really . That said...IF wii u version is better il trade this one in against it but before then id like to see for myself how it is for a tenner

As a major fan of the series I can unequivocally tell you this game is awful.
I never understood the argument "Oh well fans of the series will like this". Honestly, if I'm a huge fan of a series or franchise and a game based on said series or franchise is awful, I'm going to be a lot more disappointed than anyone else.
