I know I'm probably getting ahead of myself here, but I'd like to have a Wii U in a color besides black or white. Does anybody have any predictions for how long the wait for a blue or red model will be? Will it be within a year, like with the 3DS, or several years, like with the wii?

(I'm only patient enough to delay purchasing the Wii U because I have uncertain finances in the coming months, and want to wait until my back account can comfortably take the $350-$450 hit [including games])

Remember all the Wii colours we were promised.

I can't imagine them bringing out additional colors until the system becomes profitable. I do not think we will see anything in the first year. That usually happens later in the life cycle of a system.

Black, red, and blue all appeared. Eventually.

I wouldn't wait for the colours because you could be waiting quite a while .... unless waiting for colours is just a way of finding an excuse to delay because of the financials in which case you probably should wait for a few months anyways.

They promised a lime green one. Really wanted it, never got it. Though @skywake is probably right, you'll be in for a long wait.

But don't you think a red of blue one is going to be distracting? One of the reasons i'm getting a black one if because the colors will lokos better

@steamhare: There was also a lime green Wii that we have yet to see. And honesty its hard to say when they will come out with other colors. They might come out with one next holiday season cause of some bundle (like the blue Wii with the Skylanders bundle). There is also the option of getting a skin for your Wii U and changing the look of it or if all else fails I guess you can buy a can of spray paint.

@Skywake Yes, the colours are just an excuse to wait a few months, so I'm not rushing out to purchase anyway.

@Tasuki I've seen some beautiful skins for the wii, so I'll probably just find one for the wii U when I'm too impatient to wait for more colors. Using a can of spray paint seems like a bad, bad idea.
