Looks like it's a comprehensive poll taking into account the more popular regions for Smash, but since you don't have to own Smash to vote, I think the poll is a bit misguided. Also, I believe this was a Reddit thing, so it's a skewed result regardless.
As the saying goes "proof or I dont care". Reddit does not compensate for the worldwide support the smash ballot got. We have no idea what we are getting no matter what data Reddit shows. End of story.

I like all of those Nintendo newcomers (except Ridley) but I'd be more selective on those 3rd party ones personally. I'm liking that Ice Climber percentage!

Yeah, while I'm a huge Dragon Ball fan, I don't want Goku or anyone else from that series in Smash.
Not only do I feel that roster spots should go to characters that originate from video games, I also think there is no way Goku would mesh with the gameplay of Smash.
I know Sakurai has been a miracle worker when it comes to making characters work in Smash, but Goku is a character that can fly at will, has a teleport that he can use at will, can transform in numerous powered up states, and can shrug off bullets as a kid. Does anyone think Link's arrows or even Samus' weaponry would do anything to him?
It makes no sense given his own universe builds him up as not only being able to surpass gods, but being a god himself. So, to make him work in Smash, you would either have to nerf him and make him lose everything that makes him so awesome in his own universe, let him have his full power slate and risk him being overpowered, or have Kid Goku from the first Dragon Ball series in, which is not the version of Goku most people want to play as.
@UGXwolf: Sora is on there? I guess it's actually possible for him to be in SSB4.
