I wouldn't. I mean sure, I'd like a new 2D Metroid or Zelda game in the style of the classics... but I don't want Nintendo to cop out and put as little effort towards the game as they do the New Super Mario Bros series.

The last thing we want is four paper thin excluse plot based Zelda games where Zelda is captured by Ganon and Link has to defeat him with the Master Sword in Hyrule every time. Nah, if we get a 2D Metroid or Zelda revival, it needs to be more like what Donkey Kong Country Returns was to the SNES games, Rayman Origins and Legends were to Rayman 1 and Kirby's Return to Dreamland was to Super Star and the like, a brand new sequel which expands on the originals and has new ideas.

Is that the Dreamcast one? I didn't have a console between the Megadrive and the Wii, so I missed a lot.

All of those already came out except for Battletoads. Castlevania and Contra Rebirth are on Wiiware and Double Dragon Neon is on XBLA and PSN. Heck, there's also a multiplayer Castlevania game on XBLA.

Since all thses games already exist (save for Battletoads, a property owned by Rare, which is owned by Microsoft), it's hard for me to imagine how they would sell more Wii U's.

Battletoads — That IP is now owned by MS I would sooner bet that a new Battletoads game will come out on the Xbox sooner than the Wii U
Castlevania — I am pretty sure that they are done with side scroll Castlevania as it seems that now the Castlevania games are going in the LoS direction now. Still you never know.

The reason Nintendo was able to pull that off with Mario U is because thats their own IP all the ones you mentioned are other companies IPs not Nintendos so Nintendo doesn't have a say on what direction they go with their series.

I would say yes, but I feel like then it would be on the 3DS. I would like wayforward to make a sprite based 2D side scrolling Metroid game (in the vein of Super Metroid, obviously) for the HD Wii U. The game could look so great, and if it's 2D, then there is no limit to what they could do.

Hell, Nintendo should just buy WayForward and have them work on old-school styled games, but also allow them to make their own games.

Thanks for pointing me in the direction of this; it's a good website. I won't be downloading it though, for the simple reason that I keep my computer games free. Also, I'm slightly disappointed that they chose to include Roo and Dr. Zan. They came close to ruining SoR3 for me.
