Topic: 3DS/Wii U e-shop cards

I was at Best Buy and Target and notice new orange colored e-shop cards and noticed that they were in increments of $35 and $50 and it made me wonder why they choose those amounts when most 3DS games are $40 and most Wii U games are going to be $60. Just thought that was odd, its cool if you want to buy a card with more money on it for the regular Virtual Console and games like Crashmo, but if you want to download a retail type game like New Super Mario Bros 2 you come up short and have to add to the card!

Well, the numbers are going to be screwed up anyway because of taxes, or even if you're lucky enough to have no tax all the prices annoyingly end in .99.

So has it been confirmed that we can use eShop cards for either the 3DS or Wii U? I just got three $20 ones that say for 3DS only, but I'm wondering if I should hold off loading them in case I can use them on the Wii U instead.

iphys - Not sure about the old ones, but the new $35 and $50 ones can be used for both systems (thats why mudjo I did overkill and posted in both areas).

I'm certain future cards will, but it's hard to guess if current cards will. It's just over a week until the system comes out, you could just wait and try them then.

I think its due to taxes and stuff. Take for example MS points they have like 1600 points for $20 or something like that. Doesnt bother me too much I usually stock up on cards when they have them on sale and just put them in a drawer for when something comes out that I really want.
