I haven't dowloaded a bad VC game yet, but I would like to hear everybodys thoughts on the worst VC game thatt you have dowloaded or someone you know has downloaded.

Just don't download Donkey Kong Jr. Math.

I just emailed Nintendo this question and they said that there are no bad games on the VC. Ok I am just kidding but one man's trash is another man's treasure. It's so subjective. If Karnov by Data East was on the VC, I would choose that game. It was one of my least favorite games.

The worst I've downloaded personally would be Excite Bike. I'm not really sure why I downloaded it, really. Did it a few days ago and played it for about twenty minutes. Not saying it's a terrible game, but it's not all that great, either, and I've been careful to avoid downloading any stinkers, myself.

The worst my BROTHER has downloaded (that I've played) would probably have to be Ice Climber. The controls are AWFUL on the NES version!

The "worst" (my least favorite) I've downloaded would probably be Super C or Kirby's Adventure.

Dissing Paper Mario? sigh Can't please everybody, I guess. I'm a long-time fan of Kirby's Dream Course as well, but I can see where you'd not like it more easily than Paper Mario.

Remember, I made a point to say that Excite Bike isn't terrible at all, and it's more a testament to the fact that I only download awesome games that it should have the lowest position.

The worst i have downloaded would be Summer Games, i was expecting a Track and Field type game + impulse downloaded this, but was disapointed, hence i thought "i should really read reviews for these games before buying" + stumbled upon this site and havn't looked back

The worst game of them all barring the obvious titles mentioned above would be Altered Beast, despite good graphics back in the day the gameplay was pointless and boring, and i suspect it hasn't aged well, not to mention one of the biggest typo's in the history of gaming.

I only have one bad VC game: Super Mario RPG.

Of course it isn't the worst game on VC, although it is probably the 2nd worst SNES VC game. (It beats Space Invaders)

Just out of curiousity, what don't you like about Super Mario RPG? I loved that game way back when.

Now Playing DS: Scribblenauts; M&L: BIS--Just Finished: Picross--Backlog: Layton 2; Spirit Tracks
Now Playing Wii: Little King's Story--Just Finished: NSMBWii--Backlog: Boy and His Blob

The biggest problem is the terrible gameplay. It's ridiculously slow due to the timed hits, which don't really add anything except for exaggerated attack animations. In games where battles are initiated by running into an enemy I usually fight most enemies in an area, in SMRPG I was already bored before I even left Bowser's Keep.

Then I didn't care about much of the rest of the game, so I considered it mediocre mostly everywhere else. So a mediocre game with terrible gameplay, doesn't satisfy me. The music was unimpressive almost all around (Forest Mushrooms is good), with unfitting, demotivating battle themes. The graphics while technically impressive were brought down by the enemies that were ugly the majority of the time. Finally, through no fault of it's own, is the hype. It's hailed as amazing, but I'd say it plays like a regular RPG just much slower, and presentation wise it doesn't take itself seriously at all, nor does it offer much, instead it just relies on the Mario universe to carry it the whole way.

I have to agree. It's a fairly basic rpg which uses the Mario elements to do all the heavy lifting in place of any proper innovation or excitement in the gameplay. It's certainly not a bad game, but the hype around it is ridiculous.

I like Mario RPG, but that is based on opinion of mine (do not ask me why, I just do) , like I said when I started this forum I haven't dowloaded a bad VC game yet.

Timed attacks were innovative and exciting at the time. Paper Mario does it better though, and I think this game has aged somewhat poorly. Not an awful game, but I agree in part with Digiki. Definitely overhyped. I adored the game when it first came out but find it exceedingly dull now.

I think SMRPG was overhyped largely due to the fact that Nintendo didn't release it in the UK for over a decade (and I certainly felt entitled to it when it was released).

When I finally played SMRG on VC I didn't think it was as good as Paper Mario.

Do you prefer Paper Mario's battling system, or do you just think the whole idea is bad? Just curious.

So far, I find Mario RPG extremely maze-based exploration-wise, which is keeping me from really enjoying it. Does it stay this way throughout the game?

It can be quite funny though, I love Mario's humorous moments.

I love Paper Mario! Instead of tacking timed hits onto a traditional RPG, Paper Mario incorporated the action commands flawlessly. As well as all of the other great unconventional stuff. The paper aesthetic was awesome, and it was charming all around, much more so than SMRPG, and that was pretty much all it had.

I'm playing TTYD now, I have the first crystal star (I've probably gotten 3-4 years ago at a friend's, but I don't remember much) and it's quite awesome too.

Super Paper Mario was a turn for the worse, it was good, but vastly inferior to the earlier ones.
