Topic: Will the 3DS be able to Play VC Games?

Now that they have the controls set, I am sure the 3DS would be able to play N64 VC games. Anyone think Nintendo will bite the bullet and finally allow us to play VC games on the go?

Already have wii for N64, its GB, GBC, GBA and the other handhelds I want for 3DS VC, still console gaming on the go would be nice too.

it'd be nice, but i don't want ports of non-handheld games -- i want an actual Virtual Handheld with GB/GBC/GBA games to play. :3

Like Reala said, I want a "Virtual Handheld," or whatever, since I wasn't around for the Game Boy and Game Boy Color days and missed a lot of the great GBA games since I was younger. The Wii already supplies me with console games.

well, reggie already confirmed there'll at least be yoshis island, super mario bros, and mega man 2, and I really cant see them getting a full cartridge release, so I'm guessing Ninty's only gonna put out really classic games.

I think most people are thinking the same thing really, a 'Virtual Handheld'. If this was announced I would not hesitate in buying a 3DS straight away. I wanna be able to download games like Link's Awakening and Wario Land as I never had the chance to play them before.

I don't see why we can't have both, what are the big differences between a GBA game and a SNES one? I already can play old handheld games on my DS (you know how), but i really would love to play some N64 classics on the 3DS. What i don't want is, for exemple, a DS game on a home console because it wouldn't make any sense in playing a DS game on a system that don't have two screens, touch, mic, etc.

It will certainly be able to, but whether or not Nintendo implements it is a whole 'nother story.

yep and iirc, he said that they would have enhanced graphics and featrures. i hop the enhanced graphics are like the enhanced grphics in the game and watch series on the GBa with the ability to return to the original graphics if you want to

There could be some playability issues with some games if shrinking the graphics makes important graphical details too hard to see.

It wouldn't work as well as an actual DS, but they could design a DS Player for the Wii by stacking the two screens on the TV screen (with some sort of background appearing where necessary to preserve the correct aspect ratio), using the Wiimote IR sensor for touch controls, and using Wii Speak for the microphone.

I dont know why they havent said anything about VH I really want 2 play GB GBA games on the 3DS especially Stafy 1-3 and Drill Dozer and the built in rumble would be nice for DS games that use it as well. plus if u have the GBA game downloaded it should connect to the DS game u have like WW Twisted, Pokemons and Kirby

If the 3DS can display 3D graphics, the ability to show 3D movies, has a motion AND gyro sensor, as well as a Tag Mode, it probably can have a Virtual Console of its own. I'm not promising anything, but the sky's the limit for Nintendo! I wouldn't be surprised if the 3DS could do my laundry!

I think maybe we'll see home console games on the 3DS at some point. We will have to pay for them again though even if we own them on the Wii and we will likely have to wait for them to be released individually on the 3DS instead of the current Wii VC catalogue of games being ported over in one go.

On topic though, I think the difference is that most of the games emerging on the sShop were already portable in the sense of being on a handheld. Why take a console game on the move with you.
