I have to say from the Sega games I've downloaded on my 360, I think Sega knows how to do VC quite well compared to just about anyone else. Updating the graphics a bit, making leader boards, game like Sonic the Fighters will be online. They seem to know how to do it.
I really like how Sega does it. I plan on getting Sonic CD in high definition on my PS3 soon and its great.
Of course, its all up to the developers if they want to do that. I'm not sure if Nintendo has the time to HD upgrade a majority of their classics.

Yeah, I'm guessing it sounds easier then it is since Nintendo hasn't embraced that.

That reminds me...the Wii had issues emulating the FX Chip...what about the Wii U?
If the Wii can't emulate the FX chip? Funny that PCs from 90's, phones from just a few years later and even the Nintendo DS can so I smell bull on that one. It's just laziness - they can't be bothered to put the extra effort in for a couple of FX games. I wouldn't hold your breath for them on the Wii U either as it'll still require extra programming.
Uh, That is NOT the reason due to the FX absence. It's because of argonaut techonologies having a copyright on those games that Nintendo can't retrieve. They play just fine according to Homebrewers, but I won't go into much details on that catergory. So the wii CAN play those games, it's just Argonauts holding them back as they built the FX chip and FX2

That's not true either. There's no legal issues with emulating hardware, only software. For example, Capcom can emulate and release the NES Megaman games on a Sony console. Likewise, they also emulated the PS1 versions of the Megaman X games for Nintendo consoles.
Unless you're saying Argonaut holds the copyright to the games, but then where did you get that idea? SNES Star Fox visuals and music appear in Wario Ware and Smash Bros (SNES Corneria music, first level of SNES version in Wario Ware, Andross and sound effects in Smash Bros etc). Seriously, it's just laziness. We know they can be emulated, Nintendo own the rights. They just don't think it's worth the time.
Didn't Mega Man X2 use the FX chip? I seem to remember some sort of effects only it could use.

Mega Man X2 used the Cx4 chip.
Ah! Thanks for that!
Still, I hope they sort out whatever issues there are and we can get some FX chip games.

This is not entirely true. If the hardware uses a BIOS, the BIOS information can only be used if dumped from a legal copy of the ROM. There would need to be a 1 to 1 relationship between the number of games sold and the number of chips that the BIOS was dumped from. Perhaps this is the reason why Nintendo is not able to offer these titles?
The FX Chip doesn't have a bios. The bios can also easily be bypassed anyway such as when 3rd party NES and SNES games have been released on other consoles.
Argonaut also doesn't exist any more but, say they did, why would they hold back the rights to basic 3D technology from the 1990's? The FX chip is of absolutely zero use today other than it needs to be emulated for a couple of SNES games. I mean if they were holding it as some sort of ransom to get money from the games, they should probably be aware Nintendo has no problem porting these games anyway (Yoshi's Island on GBA for example). The rights issue makes no sense, it has been proven the Wii can emulate the FX and FX2 via home brew so the only answer left is they simply don't want to put in the extra effort to release it.
Extremely annoyed with the Wii to Wii U transfer of VC games. Basically, I've downloaded over 100 and had them all on an SD card. None left in the Wii's memory whatsoever. When I did the transfer, I thought I'd just be able to put my old SD card into the Wii U as the digital rights for all the games would be transferred to the new console....it worked this way when I transferred my old 3DS account to a 3DS XL earlier in the year.
But nope. The Wii U reads my old SD card and recognises all the games on it, but won't run any of them...I just get the 'This channel cannot be used with this Wii console' message It gives me the option to download everything I've already bought again for free from the Wii Shop (on Wii U) though, so I'm now having to download them all over again and put them on another SD card. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Worse still, I had SNES Axelay on my old SD card, downloaded from the Australian Wii Shop (I'm in the UK)...as this was never released on the EU Wii Shop, it doesn't give me the option to redownload it (it just doesn't show up at all in my 'titles you've dowloaded' list), and you can't change regions on the Wii U's 'Wii' mode either >
Honestly wish I'd never bothered doing the transfer, it's ended up being more hassle than it's worth for me
I'm not impressed. They could have done a whole lot more stil. A flood of new releases for the Wii Virtual Console would have been great to start the Wii U VC but nothing. I hope that the Wii will still continue to recieve support since Wii U upgrades are few and far between.
