Have the Wii Points Cards been discontinued? I cannot find them in stores anywhere, so I guess the only way to add points is by credit card through the Wii Shop Channel

I noticed that stores haven't been stocking them. It looks like walmart.com still has them, if you want to order them online instead of using the Wii Shop.

Adding points through the Wii Shop is cheaper than buying a card in my experience.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

It would make sense since the only thing Wii Nintendo seems to be supporting is the Wii Mini, and since that can't go online there is no need for Wii point cards.

I found Wii Points Cards at Target and Walmart this holiday. They are being phased out everywhere, so buy them now before the current stock is gone. I heard that a 60 cent tax is added per 1000 points when using a credit card. Is that true?

First and only purchase? But the Wii shop has a lot of games that NEVER will arrive to Wii U, games from NeoGeo, Turbografx, Arcade, N64, Genesis, Master Systen.

@DarkEdi Amen, brother. Rondo of blood, and Wonder Boy 6 spring to mind, and others too numerous to mention. Including some really awesome Wiiware games.

Wonder Boy 6 was even officially translated for the VC release.

@Mr_Nose Yeah, thats right. There are a lot of amazing Wii shop games that Wii U owners need to download.

I hope they update the Wii U eshop and put a simple button to go to the Wii shop to download them. A lot of people doesn´t know there are 2 shops in Wii U.

I don´t transfer yet so I continue to download a lot of exclusive Wii shop games.

Arcade Wonder Boy in Monster Land is another VC-exclusive (while there seems to be an existing arcade version in English, Sega has pointed out that one was a bootleg).
Too bad we never got the uncut Super Turrican "Director's Cut" for SNES like Factor 5 said they wanted to do. Seeing beta versions on VC could be an interesting thing (I'd definitely have liked to see Sound Fantasy. Yes, Nintendo, I'd be willing to give you money for something you declared junk decades ago!)
Still hoping to see EarthBound for NES turn up on VC on some console someday...

Sorry, I guess I chose the wrong word. I meant it was created specifically for the Virtual Console and other retro services, and did not exist before it.

I want to buy Wii Points but I can't buy them from the Wii Shop because I am not based in the US and for me to be able to get Wii Points I have to get a US billing address that is tied to my credit card.

Any one knows how/where can I get Wii Points? I am willing to buy them at $25 for every 2000 points ($20) for whoever can provide me with the codes. I am looking for at least 6000 points

Apparently, the Wii Shop uses eShop cards in Europe and Japan now even though Wii Point Cards are still a separate thing in NA.

I wish they would've just migrated the whole shop over like they did with the dsi shop. They went on and on about how backwards compatibility was so important and easy, then didn't deliver on it at all.

Apparently, there rumored next machine is going to use the same Wii U OS but more powerful and all future Nintendo devices will use it from now on making it "super backwards compatible".

As @ogo79 said, the SNS-RZ-USA is a prime giveaway that it's not a legit retail cart.

@mrshadow202 What's the deal here? I checked it and does give me the ticket (although I didn't DL it, I'd probably be sorry later but at least is not the lost levels SMB). Did you get it in a Club Nintendo promotion? How do I contact you, anyway?

I live in Mexico and I get my points with my sister's credit card. They bill me in US$ but she's charged in pesos and the billing address is in Mexico, not the US.
Back when there was Wii Connect24, many paid other people to buy the games and they sent them as a gift when they had no Credit Card. That's no longer possible, I wonder if it allowed to buy and send as gift a delisted game. Why didn't I buy Star Parodia?!
