There should be more N64 games on the VC, and some of the N64 DD games that could work on it.

I kinda wondered why there aren't a lot on in the first place. Mario Party 3 is a prime culprit of a game that should have been on VC ages ago.

Maybe it's the file limits that are blocking FX games from being on the wii?

the problem i see is not really nintendo`s fault on why there are so few N64 games on the VC.
try looking at 3rd party published games on the VC, the majority of them have only placed one, maybe two games onto the VC and that`s it.
capcom and konami are the two biggest 3rd party contributers on there, and it sadens me greatly that we`ll never see some of the best games by some the other best publishers on the VC.

And why not save them for a Wii U exclusive?!

I think a lot of companies have had trouble emulating N64 games. I remember Natsume saying in an interview that they couldn't get Harvest Moon 64 to work. That doesn't mean it will never show up, but they are having trouble with it. I do believe we will see more N64 games on the Wii U though. Maybe by then then they will implement controller pak support.

Probably. I'm expecting Starfox and one N64 games to be launch titles for Wii U VC, seeing how it has a better file limit.

Speaking of capcom, I want that tetris game they made. Why isn't Tetris on the wii VC in some form, anyway?

I doubt the file size is the problem. Majora's Mask worked just fine, and no 64 game was even 512 MB in size

How big IS Majora's mask? I know it's like 256 blocks or so, but how much MB is that?

And even if SF could fit in the file limit, from what I hear on the internet a lot, apparently that FX chip is causing issues on the wii's current SNES emulator.

I don't get why they can't just remove the FX chip and use the wii's power for the effect instead...

tbh nintendo could have put out a small team on to making a starfox in the same style as the snes version for wiiware instead, but update the graphics a bit. heck, they could have re programmed starfox 2 for wiiware considering that we will never see the SNES version.

Because most N64 games (I think) were licensed and/or owned by companies that have now gone or been bought by another company (Rare). As to why? Well, I guess we'll never really know... but I bet the few years VC drought had something to do with it.

The VC already has all the best N64 games. I got no complaints.

The biggest games on N64 were Resident Evil 2 (512 megaBITS = 64MB) and the PAL version of Paper Mario (I think that was also 64MB, but I know it was bigger than the single-language NTSC versions).

I don't see the benefit Nintendo get from not putting every game they have ever made on. If they own the rights to the games then surely it can't be costing them much to list the games on the nintendo wii shop. They will easily make what ever money back through sales to make up for the costs to put all of their games on the shop.

We only need one more N64 game and that is Dr.Mario 64.

@TheDreamingHawk: The FX chip I believe is having some kind of licensing issue which is why games like Star Fox and Stunt Race FX haven't come to the VC service. As for Tetris that too is licensing issues which is why really no Tetris game has been released on the VC. From what I have read is that the owner of the Tetris license wasnt happy on how Nintendo put Tetris on every puzzle game to increase sales. A prime example of that was Tetris Attack. Anyway when the contract ran out the Tetris company decided not to renew with Nintendo cause of how they used the name.
