Yes. But Capcom aren't interested in supporting the Wii Virtual Console anymore.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

Agreed 100 % but it must be the excellent SNES version NOT the music bastardized PSX one

Well, its not like PlayStation One games can be on the Virtual Console.

Capcom (at least the USA branch) actually wasn't interested in supporting the SNES the first time around (they once canceled Mega Man 7), but we got them because as Christmas approached they realized the 32-bit market was too new to depend on it.
But it's too bad now they probably aren't hurting enough for lack of a digital release. :P

That version was also present in PC and Sega Saturn and unfortunately was the one included in the Mega Man X Anniversary Collection which ultimately was released for Game Cube. Cheap from the part of Capcom it cost nothing to include also the SNES version (a small rom) in that disc.

I would hope it does since it's rare and hard to find. I own a copy, but not everyone does and they deserve the chance to play it.
