Topic: VC titles in WiiShop: Genres?!

Had a browse the other day of titles 'by genre' in VC (and also WiiWare) shops. The categorization appears totally arbitrary to me. If you were casually looking for something in a genre you enjoy, chances are you'd miss out on loads of great stuff because it's been stuck in the wrong place. Anyone else noticed this?

Some games seem loosely placed and appear in several genres, but I'm not sure about it being misleading. I usually search by system though.

That's true, but it's still odd. On WiiWare, for example, the ONLY 'multiplayer' game is Bit.Trip.Beat. (?!?!)

Really? How do you play Bit.Trip Beat in 2 player?

You have to use two controllers.

Oh, also, each player gets a paddle on same screen. It's cooperative. If you have more than two paddles, the paddles are reduced in half to make it harder, like in the Challenge sections except throughout the whole song.

I don't rely on the genres listings BECAUSE they're so totally random. I do look at them from time to time for a good laugh, though.

Seriously, if Bit.Trip.Beat is the ONLY WiiWare game listed as Multiplayer, something is VERY wrong!

I've noticed this, too. It's surprisingly unprofessional of Nintendo.

That's really stupid. A lot of games should be under that one like Jungle Speed for example.
I've noticed this in the past, honestly, but haven't said anything till now.

Yeah, the genre listings are really weird and random. Don't use those to search for games.
