most of us have a VC wish list about a mile long.
rather than posting up lists of games that you want to come to the VC, there`s already a thread for that already.
post up the game(s) that you wanted on the VC that actually made it, did you downloaded it/them, and were you happy with the purchase?

Super Mario RPG is the number one game that I hoped for that actually made it. Such a good game. Anything else I want has little to no chance of being added.

Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Caliber,
Ys Book I and II,
Final Fantasy III,
Faxanadu,
and Ghosts N' Goblins (Arcade)
are my wishlist games that made it. I downloaded all of them, except Ghosts N' Goblins and now I probably never will because I got Capcom Classics (incidentally) for Xbox. I'm not always happy with how much they cost, but I've been happy playing the games.

...in my pants.

@DizzyBoy Btw: this is a great topic!

-SMB 1,2,3 NES
are must haves

-Super C NES
is amazing (Don't miss Conta Rebirth WiiWare)

-Final Fight SNES
which I still can't beat keeps me coming back

-Double Dragon NES
is such a classic, looking forward to announced DD2 on VC

-Zelda NES
(This may stir protest) Cannot get into, doesn't hold me like it did when I was a kid

-F-Zero SNES
Still an awesome racer that holds up today, ecspecially multiplayer

-Final Fantasy I, II, III NES/SNES
The games that started RPGs for me! So amazing. I wouldn't be play Dragon Age today, if I didn't play Final Fantasy 20 years ago

-Zelda SNES
just starting playing for first time, impressed so far

-Actraiser SNES
The game that first made me buy a SNES back in the day (and SM World) but still having trouble getting into it

-Punch Out NES
Beat when I was a kid, beat it fairly easily now - Punch Out Wii is actually really cool too

-SimCity SNES
So amazing. This and SimCity 3000 are the best "Simcities" out there. High hopes for new Simcity PC this fall

-R-Type 3 SNES
Best side scrolling shooter ever (I know this will be disputed)

-MegaMan X SNES
Best MegaMan out there

-Street Fighter 2 Turbo SNES
Downloaded for nostalga purposes but its a bit tired and there a better VC fighters now

-Ogre Battle 64 N64
I never liked the N64 system but this game is super high caliber and depth for a cartridge game. Blocky graphics do show their age

-Golden Axe Sega Genesis
Just a pure guilty pleasure

Too many. I did get the OoT remake though. That's one thing taken care of. As for my 3DS, post Ambassador's Program, I'm set for a system generation's worth of VC.

Game Reviews:
Xbox 360: Assassin's Creed III 9.5/10
Bioshock Infinite 9.75/10
3DS: Fire Emblem: Awakening 9.75/10
Scribblenauts Unlimited 9.0/10

Super Castlevania 4 and Rondo of Blood

Final Fight Trilogy

Streets of Rage Trilogy

Donkey Kong Country Trilogy

Splatterhouse 1 and 2(still want the frickin' third game though!!! sadly, does not appear it's going to happen...)

Bonk 1-3 and Super Bonk

F-Zero and F-Zero X

Super Star Wars games

Gate of Thunder and Lords of Thunder

Super Mario World

Super Metroid

Gunstar Heroes

I could go on, but I'll stop here.

The VC was the first time I got to own and beat Kid Icarus, StarTropics 1 & 2, Kirby's Adventure, ActRaiser, The Legend of the Mystical Ninja, Light Crusader, Alien Soldier, Dynamite Headdy, Gunstar Heroes, Gain Ground, Landstalker, the 5 Wonder Boy games, Super Mario RPG, Mario's Super Picross, Ys Book I & II, Neutopia I & II, Bonk 123, the 4 Sonic games, etc.

Also love it for the Nintendo classics and to relive the past with Paradroid, Uridium, The Last Ninja 123, Boulder Dash, etc.

Many of them were on my wishlist for a long time.

As for WiiWare, the new Monkey Island was on my wishlist and I loved to follow the chapters month for month, and of course I anticipate every Art Style game and good indie support.

The top of my VC/WW wishlist is Monster World IV (MD), Snowpack Park (WW), Bangaio (N64), Ai Cho Aniki (TG), Wizball (C64), Earthbound Zero (NES) and Cubivore (N64).

A lot, actually. I guess the biggest three that I figured had no chance of making it to the VC that actually did were:

1. Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom
2. A Boy and His Blob
3. Castlevania - Rondo of Blood

The first two I had a lot of nostalgia for and the third was a game I had been wanting to play since I first learned of it's existence back in '99 or so.

Final Fantasy III

Chrono Trigger

Super Mario RPG

Fatal Fury 3 (but more so Real Bout when they eventually arrive)

Mario Kart 64, F-Zero X, Wave Race 64 (since I had not been able to play my N64 for years)

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

Instead of including what are already listed, I'll just say Blades of Steel and Majora's Mask.

Space Harrier (Arcade)

  • I played this all the time at Disney World in the mid 80s. My neck would get sore from the moving cabinet but I loved every minute. The VC is the most accurate port ever released for home consoles. I prefer the classic controller instead of the bad motion control setup.

Castlevania: Rondo of Blood

  • I always wanted this game after reading how awesome it was in EGM and GamePro. Tough as nails but worth the points.

Most of the games that I downloaded from the VC were games that I grew up with and at the time I either didnt have anymore or I didnt have the system anymore. I also wanted to introduce some of these great games to my son who never got to play the older games (his first system was a Gamecube) anyway heres my list.

NES
Super Mario Bros 1,2, and 3
River City Ransom
Punch Out!!!
Super Dodge Ball

SNES:
Simcity (Loved this game as a kid)
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Super Mario World
Harvest Moon (Never got a chance to play this game on the SNES even though I have the cartridge. At the time I bought it I didnt have my SNES)
Super Punch Out!!!
Indiana Jones Greatest Adventures (When they brought out the Starwars games for SNES I was really hoping they were bringing this one out)
Super Mario Kart (You have to have the one that started the series :D)

Genesis:
Streets of Rage 1, 2, and 3 (Use to rent them all the time during the 16 bit era. I never owned them but I really enjoyed them so when they came to VC this was a must have for me)

Turbo Grafx
Castlevania: Rondo of Blood (Never played it before but since Castlevania: SotN is my favorite Castlevania of all time I wanted to play the RoB since SotN is the sequel).

I agree the arcade Spacer Harrier port for the Wii VC is excellent. I'm not sure if you have tried Space Harrier on the Sonic's Ultimate Genesis collection. Its a terrible port and the sound and voiceovers are so bad its almost like a joke. A joke I did not laugh at :(
